1993 Mazda RX-7

Hi, New guy here from Santa Cruz, Ca. I just traded in my Mazda Protege5 for a new 4runner (quite the upgrade!) and so far I'm loving it. This thread's for our other car, tho.
I live pretty close to Laguna Seca Raceway and have always liked cars that corner well. I've had a few RX-7's over the years, but this one is my 1st 3rd gen, and by far my favorite. Its got plenty of go-fast mods, but the outside is bone stock except for the wheels (the CF rear wing is gone. ).

Anyway, this place looks like a pretty active and mellow site, and I hope to possible add a lil something to it in the future. Any questions about the 7, shoot!

They're about as cheap as they'll ever be right about now. You can get a nice clean one for about 12-15k.

Love it man.

RX7's look so much nicer than RX8's I think.

Why no exterior mods?

I was gonna put a body kit and a giant football bleacher wing on it, but then I remembered I'm not a little Asian guy from San Jose. Haha. j/k, j/k.

I actually had a few little goodies on it at one point, but I brought it back to stock and threw all my money into the suspension. IMO, there's not really many ways to make an FD3S (3rd gen RX-7) look much better so why not enhance what it already does well?

Hi, I have seen them cheaper but that is the going price for a clean one. I alway liked them. When I was a kid I thought they were a mini dodge viper. Right now I need something more practical.

My fiancee saw the picture and liked it. She had two or three second generation rx7s before I was with her. The last one she had was a 1990 convertable that was all done up. She had way to much money in it. The cars are money pits unfortunatly. If your port seals start to leak you are talking big money to fix. It is all worth it if you have the money and a garage to keep it in. These cars are so sexy. They do not look old. In fact they look like a new car that just came out. Way ahead of their time.

About six months ago we sold her 1994 miata b package touring. It had the bbs wheels and the factory posi rear. The car was fun and got between 25 and 32mpg depending on driving style and city or highway. Usually got 27-28 in mixed with mostly in town driving even with a lot of throttle. Great car and reliable as a toyota but in the end it was to small.

I was at laguna seca mazda raceway about ten years ago. I believe it was a special anniversary event. There was a 1993 rx7 being raced by a movie star and he was passing bmw z3s and porsches that were newer. It had a widebody kit on it. It looked like a prototype. That is how nice it was.

I do junk car removal and I know where there is a silver third generation rx7 with some accident damage on the side. I think it might be an automatic and the people only speak spanish. I need a translater. The car has been sitting for years. There must be a title issue or engine problem. I am going to try and get a deal going on that. Just the shell is worth good money.
