Which Raptor are you talking about, the 660 or 700?

Handling on the Raptor 700 is awesome! Gone is the excessive body roll of the old 660 and in its place is a much more YFZ-like handling package. Steering is extremely precise on the Raptor. The machine seems rock solid in the turns with virtually no body roll. The 700 tracks well through the whoops and dare I say, the harder you push the throttle the better it seemed to work.

Yeah I haven't had a chance to check out the 700, buddy has a 660 and hates it. From everything from performance, ride, and reliablity. It looks like a super nice quad.

Yeah, I started reading up on the 660s and they were having trouble with the transmissions, starter one-ways, handling sucked. Everyone that has the 700 say they love it. Handles perfect, put a pipe on it, remap the EFI and get about 50hp and 40lbs/ft, or something along those lines.

i know that yall are mostly talking about sport 4wheelers that go really fast, but i thought that i would just throw this out there. my friend has a yamaha rhino and that thing is really nice. sure its not really a 4wheeler but it wil go anywhere you want it to and hauls a$$ also. i personally would love to have one.

The '01 Raptors had tranny issues, but Yamaha fixed that for '02 and they have been just fine ever since.
You are right about the 660R being tippy, but the 700R is a totally different machine. It actually shares a lot of parts in common with the YFZ and every magazine that has reviewed the 700R has loved it.

not a big fan of 4 strokes, if your looking for sport, pick up a banshee, it will wind up being twice as fast at half the cost by the time your done. 4 strokes are too expensive to mod, and too slow after your done, just my .02, Banshee all the way.

Stock vs. stock a Banshee is no faster than a 450. In fact, the Banshee is a little bit slower.
Besides, it takes a rider with a lot of skill to keep a Banshee in it's powerband. If you dont know what you are doing the Banshee will fall off the pipe and it will literally fall flat on it's face. A 4-stroke has a much more forgiving powerband. Also, you pretty much have to ride a Banshee like you stole it or else it will foul out plugs like crazy. With a 4-stroke you can putt-putt around or you can ride it like you stole it and the quad will run just fine either way.
2-stroke certainly had a good run, but IMO 4-stroke engine technology has advanced to the point where a 4-stroke will do anything a 2-stroke will do (and some things a 2-stroke wont).

Yeah, Banshees are cool and everything to make monsters out of, but I hear too much bad stuff about them. Having 2 carbs to tune, bad suspension...They say you only have to rebuild about every two years or more if you don't race it, or have NOS on it and everything...
I just want my 700cc fourstroke to go fart around on. No carbs no choke, especially not two. I think the 700R will actually take a stock Banshee. Fast enough for me either way though

WoW... amazing power and it's not even broke in yet and hasn't gone over 1/2 throttle... Very Big engine...

great find! Isn't it nuts how fast it is!?? Ive been on the back of one going 45 on the rear wheels!! After you get the hang of it a bit, I'd start going to a local track a bit. Its a great workout and quite fun when you start getting good! My buddy loves his, hasn't really had a problem with it yet. Other than when his bro rolled it, but that was driver error...
