Bike trainers

Thinking of getting one, and I have always been curious as to how they attach to a bike.
Found this on YouTube.

Doing lots of research, and it seems the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine Fluid is one of the top ones on the market.

My LBS has it.

Amazon has a better price than my LBS, maybe they will match it.

Huge picture.

Looks like this installs to the bike fairly easy too, maybe easier than that video above.

PS, found a video on YouTube of this trainer.
Since getting my bike, I have lost about eight lbs already.
It will be nice to be able to use this inside during the winter too or bad weather.

Here is another one from the same company, but it goes for over five bills.
You can rock back and forth on this model.

Over the years I've had 3 fluid ones and they all ended up leaking. Now I have a basic Minoura magnetic one that works just fine. It's very easy to set up, takes only a minute to attach it. But riding indoors is very boring, and you get overheated easily. One thing I would suggest is get a cheap tire on the back wheel, the trainer really wears them out quickly. If you don't want to swap tires often then get a spare cheap rear wheel with a cheap tire.

Eric, this green brand states that they do not leak at all.
They show why in the lower video I posted.

Eighty5, those roller types look very hard to use
The other type are more forgiving.

On the rare occasions I drag myself into riding the (magnetic) trainer I
have a fan going
use you-tube to find decent length helmet cam mtb rides and good music, usually heavy
have a few of those ready to hit the play button as the other ends

HATE the trainer. Go for hike in woods instead or even around town instead, 'pending on the weather.

the Kurts kinetic rock n roll trainer is a pretty cool setup but it takes up a lot of room. Same issue with rollers, plus the fact that youll have to change out BOTH tires to use it, not just the rear. Both the cycleops and kurts mag and fluid trainers work well, and the fluids are by far the most smooth and you dont have to bother with setting resistance since they adjust by what gear you're in.

Thanks, I like the Kurts Road one.
Takes up less space than the rock & roll one.

My LBS does not stock it now, and when they do, it will still be around $369 or whatever it is on their site.
It I get it, I will go through Amazon.

The best time for me to exercise is after I get up, to pooped when I get off work, plus not good to do so before going to bed.

I could walk outside in the morning at my place, but at 2 am I would rather be in my own home that outside.

I have time to jump on it in the morning for 20+ minutes before needing to shower before work.

As far as trainers go, personally I'm not really into them. Hear good things about Kinetic though but no first hand experience. I prefer rollers to a trainer. The resistance is low on the larger drums however, Kreitler Rollers offer 3 drum sizes each providing different levels of resistance. I have the Kreitler 3" and after about 10 min of a high cadence spin I'm pouring sweat.

Not so great w/ a Mountain bike but if you have a road bike...
They fold up in half pretty nicely too.
