FS: JDM 3rd Gen Compass/Altimeter/Barometer Field Unit

Ok, I've finally obtained another field monitor (and I promise, no complaints about the ending price, this time...)

It is exactly like the last unit that I sold to midiwall, but this time I am including the mirror and mounting clip. His write up on the last unit should make this installation a breeze!

The ebay auction will be starting tomorrow at 6:45pm PST. I will post a link in this thread after it has started. You can also look for the seller ID of JDMISME.

I won't be selling it off auction, so pleeeeeeease don't ask for a buy-it-now price. Please address any questions that you have using the ebay 'ask seller a question' messaging system.

thanks, and good luck!

I think that if you simply shave the housing (the edges) you can make it fit quite nicely into a non-sunroof model.....i think....

Yes, as a matter of fact, my 3rd gen Surf has this exact same unit except I don't have a sunroof, so it doesn't have the sunroof controls next to the lights...everything else is the same. And yes, the plastic housing is shaped differently to fit the non-sunroof liner.

Ok, for all of youz that were watching the auction....sorry. I cancelled the auction because I just obtained ANOTHER unit. But, this unit is missing the back plastic plate and the front end was so smashed that I couldn't pull the ambient temp sensor (I couldn't even see/find it) AND this unit is from a NON-sunroof Surf. So, what does this mean?? It means that I can sell 1 full set to someone that has a sunroof or no sunroof. All I have to do is switch out the housings. I will be reposting with pics of the everything.

Sorry to pull the plug at the last minute, but I had so many requests for the non-sunroof unit and the only way to get that unit to those people was to combine these 2 units. It will be out, tomorrow. I will post the new links in this thread.

That is the most stupid thing I've heard. What the hell are you talking about?

Why would you cancel the auction to do that?

lame lame lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im sure you could find another one w/o sunroof controls down the line. Im sure you would have plenty of bidders for your last one with the sunroof controls!

Yeah, that's ridiculous! Pulling the auction at the last min, just b/c you got more comments from non-sunroof owners?? What's that all about?

I'm going to have to agree w/ SC4Runner:

...thats wack dude. im sure you would have gotten more bids had you not pulled it, and found another non roof'd unit to put up for grabs later on.

and i think we should adopt another forums rules where you offer something here first, if nobody bites, then off to ebay. especially for more rare items. no direct ebay postings 'less it was offered here first. or do we do that already?

...as they say, "you get greedy, you get caught"

I'm sure you had your reasons on why you pulled it and stuff, but, DUDE!

It just doesn't make much sense... You cancelled the entire auction because you found another unit?! HUH!?

I wont be bidding again... But, Im sure you'll get a pretty penny from those units no matter what.

Sorry if I sounded like a dick...

Wow, so many complaints...so much bickering...You guys sure do know how to jump the gun on things. Did you just completely NOT read my post or did I just not write it clear enough to be understood? IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BIDS OR THE LACK THERE-OF!!!

As explained above, this second unit is NOT COMPLETE as is... I don't sell items that are half-assed if at all possible. The only way to make a complete non-sunroof item is to combine the 2 units that I have. On the second unit that I just pulled last Thursday, the back plate wasn't there and the outside temp sensor was destroyed. Without the temp sensor, the unit is part useless. Without the back plate you would have to make your own, somehow or leave a big ugly gaping hole.... Midiwall's set-up looks good because he did a good job and IT'S COMPLETE.

Now, if looking out for the non-sunroof owners by making sure that they have a chance to get a complete set is a crime then I'm guilty as charged. If I was worried about the price, then I wouldn't be starting this next auction at $9.99, would I?

Again, it had nothing to do with the bids. I figured, if anything, that people would show a little appreciation for the fact that I am doing this. I could have let the first unit finish and then posted a half-assed non-sunroof unit afterwards...but where does that leave those non-sunroof owners?? WITH A HALF-ASSED UNIT, THAT'S WHERE. To you guys that think ''finding another unit is easy''....ARE YOU STUPID? How many have you EVER seen? Why do you think that the answer to that question is maybe 1 or 2 at most? BECAUSE THEY'RE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!! Which again, is the reason why the cancellation and re-post is occuring. This way, both sunroof and non-sunroof owners have an opportunity to get the correct item.

It seems to me that you people that are complaining about the cancellation either have no patience for things to be done the propler way or don't give a rat's ass about your fellow 3rd gen owners. By the way, when I say I won't be ''ending an auction early'' I mean that I won't be selling it to someone outright...that has nothing to do with cancelling the auction to make it a bit better for everyone involved.

The new link will be posted in this thread as soon as it starts tonight at 6:45pm PST. (that's right, I have no problem continuing the sale with this thread as I know that what I did was for everyone's good...whether you complainers realize it, or not).

The new auction will be starting in about an hour. For those of you still interested, the link is below.

DAMN MAN!!! ARE YOU REALLY THIS STUPID OR JUST SO PISSED OFF THAT YOU CAN'T READ STRAIGHT?

I'll type slower for you, ok??

The first unit, for the sunroof vehicle, the one that was in the original auction is just fine...the second unit, the one that was pulled from a non-sunroof vehicle does not have a back plate or the outside temp sensor.....

Thus the cancellation of the first auction and the combining of the two units to be able to make a complete set for either sunroof vehicles or non-sunroof vehicles.......NOW DO YOU GET IT?

This is ridiculous, people. I did not originally intend to actively search for anymore of these items. I did this because of the unusually high number of requests for another unit. So is that the way it works here at Yotatech? Try to do something right or nice and get crucified for it? GEEEEESH!!!!!
