FEELER: 1999 4Runner Highlander/Sport 4x4 V6

I'm posting this up just to get an idea of what I could get for my 4Runner. I have an order placed for an '07 Tacoma Double Cab so it might be time to think about letting my 4Runner go.

All services have been done at my dealership and I have documentation, I bought this vehicle with ~85k on it and it now has ~130k, I have had the oil changed every 2900-3200 miles and all other maintenance has been performed either before or right at the recommended interval.

It has Mickey Thompson MTZ's on it with ~16/32 tread left (new are 18/32), brake fluid and power steering fluids were just flushed. Tires are rotated every 5,000 miles. Lift was installed at the dealership. New paint job approx. a year ago, done at the dealer bodyshop. Everything painted except roof. Interior is very clean, minor stains on the back of the rear seats (previous owner), the carpets have minor stains as well but are now covered with Husky Liners front and rear which will stay in the vehicle when sold.

I would classify it as being in Excellent condition overall.

Say I were to list it at $13k, take it and run with it. PM me an offer if you don't want to post it up.

Some jokes are good but too many crazy offers like, "A ham sandwich and a stripper named Veronica" get old...although, with pictures, I might consider the stripper offer.

Click Here for the full specs and mods.

Thanks for looking,

Fink

Anybody have an opinion on the price I'm asking? High? Low? Reasonable?

Thanks!

Kind of depends on how long you want to wait to sell it for. I was in a similar situation when i put my 96 Mustang up for sale, dealers offered me 3k for it because it was older, it blue booked at 5k because it had 130k miles on it but I had done tons of work to it with a fast engine etc. Long story short I posted it on auto trader and the mustang forums I was a part of and it sold for $7,800. I got a bunch of useless offers from auto trader shoppers that like to tell you your car isn't worth more just because it has more in it. I didn't come close to getting my money back from it but I got a lot more than the average car of its year/model from another enthusiast on the boards that saw its true value. You can probably get 12,000 or 12,500 maybe if you come across the right buyer, but you just have to keep marketing it to enthusiasts that are looking for something like that and wait for the right person. If I were looking to buy the car, I would probably offer you 11,000 or 11,500 since KBB for my area lists like 9500 in excellent condition.

It really does depend on the buyer. That is the exact trim package I'm looking for and it has some tasteful mods, so I'd offer $12,500 if it were a manual. (Believe me, If it were manual I would have already pressured you into selling it ) So if you decide to sell it I'd wait and see if you have someone's dream car before you accept lower offers.

nice vehicle. I have an '01 Sport with similar equipment.
KBB is highly inaccurate (mainly used by banks for loans). The market dictates the value. I have a 1985 Toyota 4x4 with 19,000 original miles. You can just imagine what ridiculous value KBB would put on it!!! KBB is used by dealers to allow for negative equity/etc. Just another way to advertised a great "sale" price when you reduce it from suggested retail to a more accurate reflection of value. I think 11-12k is fair. NADA is more accurate than KBB. If a person really likes it, they will pay top dollar. You just have to be patient or reduce it for a quick sale. My 2 cents.

Can you provide the VIN#? Who installed the tranny cooler, rock sliders, rollbar? Does it come with stock wheels? Do you have any pics of the engine and undercarriage? What kinda MPG do you get? Thanks!

Sorry I haven't responded in so long.

It has since been sold to a very lucky member of YotaTech and also my roommate.

ADH8796 is now the new owner of my Runner...luckily, it still gets parked in the same garage as it used to so I haven't quite gone through withdrawal.

Not to mention, as soon as I see my Tacoma being rolled off the transport all regret will rapidly disappear!
