1987 Pickup Turbo 4x4
Here is the only picture I have of the truck online:
Its got a fresh top end rebuild (new valves, guides seals etc in the head) fresh head gasket, a new timing set and timing cover. It has a Garrett T3 kit from TEC ($3500 alone) with a 2.5" mandrel downpipe and 2.5" cat and exhaust. The boost is fully adjustable, but I havent put a boost gauge on so I haven't messed with it (its set at whatever TEC set it at). The tube bed would cost over $900 to have built. It has an electric fan from a V8 crown victoria in a custom built bracket.
When I put the timing set on, I put silicone between the timing cover and the head gasket, but not the head gasket and the head, so it seeps oil out there. A/C doesnt work, has an aftermarket cruise control setup, but with the bigger turbo, there isnt enough vacuum to operate it (an electronic unit would work). Also, the valves could use some final adjusting.
It is 4x4, has the R151 (4.31:1 1st gear) and the 23-slpine case.
The interior is dirty and the bench seat is pretty worn.
The frame has some rust, I already replaced a large section of rusted out frame, it still has a couple holes, but nothing to make it structurally unsound.
Its a good work truck/tuner project or candidate for a trail rig, but I already have an SAS'd 4runner and I'm a desk jockey now so I need something clean and comfortable with A/C that isn't a work-in-progress to drive. This truck is fun to drive with plenty of power (1st gear is nearly useless in the rain).
The 31x10.5's have a little over 50% tread.
$3500 OBO and I'm hoping to not part it out.
