1980 toyota pickup, for sale/trade
Truck is located five hours north of San Fran, I am willing to drive pretty far for the right trade. I regularly travel to souther OR and i will be heading to southern CA the second week of june.
We just found out my wife is pregnant, I would like to see if I can get something that will seat four. The truck does not have to leave but im curious to see what’s out there...
1980 Toyota pickup 4x4
250,000 on the body
About 150,000 on a 21r (runs good but has leaks)
Factory A/C
No power steering
32 inch BFG all terrains with 75% tread,
4.38’s in the the thirds, front axle looks to be an 81-83, has short gusset.
Runs and drives good, currently my daily driver
Very minor surface rust has started in a few spots since moving it to the northern CA coast a few months ago, it has been a southern CA desert truck its whole life until five months ago.
Now onto the story.
In November of last year I drove down the southern CA to visit some family, and ending up driving this thing home!! The gentleman I purchased the truck from had owned it since the mid eighties and was the second owner. He documented or has receipts for everything done to the truck over the past 20 years of his ownership, I still have all of his receipts and there are some big ones, $2000 plus. I drove the truck 900 miles home and have been daily driving it since, without issue. My plan was a comfortable updated DD that could still tackle trails/camping on the weekend. Currently this is my only driver back and forth to work.

*note: roll bar has been removed, aftermarket grill replaced with stock one.
I have done the following
-sr5 cluster swap
-sliding adjustable hunsaker buckers
-pulled all carpet
-70 amp internally regulated alternator
-optima with bigger cable to starter
-removed roll bar
-replaced stainless steel grill with factory plastic one
-replaced clutch master and slave
-full tune up
-adjusted valves
-valve cover gasket
-oil change
-little things here and there, im sure im forgetting some.
Depending on the sale or trade I have the following that could be included:
-Old Man Emu springs front and rear, greasable pins and bushings. (NEW)
-flat pitman arm (new)
-shock hoops (new)
-ifs power steering box
-ifs box mount kit (new)
-power steering pump and accessories
-w-56 with matching t-case and drive shafts, tranny has new shifter sockets and bushings from marlin, along with new seals. The front needs to be installed.
-56” ranger springs
-stock rear first gen springs

-lots of interior parts
-e locker with trashed 5.29s
-partially torn down 22r, good running motor
-LC engineering smog block plates
-marlin triple drilled flanges
-FSM
-stock 22r carb
-v-6 brake booster and master cylinder
-v-6 calipers
-weber 32/36 carb, needs rebuild
I’m sure there stuff im forgetting.
What im looking for as far as trades, I am willing to trade up with cash, or down (must be at least daily drive-able and 4x4)
84-95 4runner, must be 4 cylinder and 5 speed
96-02 4runner must be v-6
04-06 double cab Tacoma
Fj-80
Fj-60/62
Open to cash offer and other trades, i used to be a die hard jeep xj guy. you never know unless you ask.
looking for 3700 BO for the just the truck, if you want any of the parts we can work it out.
