Tire warrantee from discount tire

Im getting my duratracs in the next week or so. Im debating between spending the extra $100 and getting the warrantee. Is it worth it? What is everyone's opinion on it? I know its good for 3yrs or 3/32. Ill be 90% on road for now, college student, cant afford to do long trips. Anyway what do you guys think, im kinda right in the middle and ive never had problems with tires popping before.

blow out one tire and you've got your money back on the free road hazard replacement. If you don't have any troubles with them, its a waste of $$. Like anything, its a gamble. I usually get it with my BFG's there because I am very hard on my tires.

There is no time limit on it, but once the tires are worn out the warranty expires. Spend the money, for what we do, you will use it. A club member of mine popped 3 tires in one outing, and had all replaced under warranty - no questions asked.

And for the record, I work for Discount Tire. I have them on my rig, I have them on my car. They are well worth it, especially when you pop one and have to pay to have it replaced.

Get them. My dad got 2 new tires free, and paid for 2 new tires. (nail + hammer in sidewall = unrepairable) Plus whenever you hit a nail or something they fix it for free, plus free balancing and rotations. IMHO its worth it.

I guess the reasons for not getting it is if you never get nails or anything in your tires, or you don't travel, or you are on a budget.

I've gotten them since '95 on my vehicles and only used it once and it is a big gamble but kinda like having and not needing it vs not having it and needing it.

I'm leaning toward the Duratracs also.

I always get the warrenty from discount on any tires. Be it expensive BFGs or the cheap crapo tires for my fiances corolla. I've gotten so many free tires because the cheapies always crap out. And only once did a guy at discount ever try to pull some bs on me, and after speaking with the manager I got my free tire. (And I always buy a new warreny on the new free tire.)

twitchee, I didn't realize you were a college student. (usually translates into little or no money) In that case I would rather spend the $100 on other maintenance items, or necessities, but that's my opinion.
