3" suspension lift and a 2" body lift you'll be probably able to run 285/75/R16 (33x11.50x16) tires no problem.

Is that all? I was hoping 295's at least with the spacers and bl. How much trimming would be necessary, and is it mostly the front fender or both?

Hi, I have a 97 Limited runner with 3" toytec coilovers in front, fj80 coils in the rear, a 2" body lift on the way, and 1" wheel spacers. Stock control arms. What is the largest size tire I can run with little to no rub?

Also can someone recommend a longer lasting, more aggressive tire than bfg a/t's? I need a much better tire for wheeling, and noise is not an issue.

BFG All Terrain T/A KO
33x12.5R15 require a minimum of 8.5" wide rims.
Recommended rim width: 8.5 - 11.

Same thing for the 35x12.5R15.

I need to buy new tires for my truck soon. Wondering whats the biggest I could go on stock lift and stock rims (15 inch i think?) WITHOUT RUBBING ON FENDERS?

31's Welcome aboard! Just for future reference and save you headaches from others flaming you. Use the search button for questions like these as it's been covered billions of times. Not being rude or anything just saving your arse.

EDIT: Also dude you need to post in the right section. 3rd gen 4Runners/4th gen Tacoma. Nothing like getting up early in the morning checking the OT and wondering why you are reading the wrong section. Dang I was hoping for an excuse to go back to bed...

It would take him to......this thread.

Which is the whole reason we created this thread

He posted in the correct section, as this section is not year make or model specific.

what size tire size would look good for this setup?

So I have 2wd 97 4runner which is only street driven but I want to lift it with bigger tires cause I just love these bad boys look. I've decided on doing a daystar 2.5" lift and possibly a 1" BL sometime after. Well its time for me to get new tires(others are worn). I just have 235/75/15 right now. I have a brand new set of rims that are 15x8" that Im going to mount. Would like tire size recommendations for my setup. Don't wanna go too small or too big(don't wanna kill gas mileage). Are 31x10.5 the size too go? Bigger? Any ideas would be great. thanks

For a 15x8, I would do a 33x12.50. It will hurt the gas milage though.

New Firestone Destination A/T's on my 03 T4R. I up-sized to 265/70/17 and they fit like a glove... literally. No rubbing yet, nothing trimmed and the truck is not lifted.
Why does my truck feel a so much bigger and it is only 1/2 inch taller?

I am potentially getting a set of 15" rims (waiting on price from guy who's selling them) to replace the stock 14" ones on my 88 2wd pickup. If I get the 15s I may want to put winter tires on the 14s for easy swapping, so, what's the largest tire size for both sets of rims I can get without having to make any modifications (I think the max width is 8.5, maybe 9)? Also, what gearing would I need for an accurate speedometer and odometer? I just really need some extra ground clearance to keep the rear diff off the rocks sticking up out of the fields around my farm and to keep from bottoming out on the exposed culverts, no serious off-road.

e: God the rims, for free of all things.

Wheel Input Please

Looking at getting the Cragar Soft 8s but wanted your opinions on size. I am putting them on a 92 4Runner, no lift, and running 33X10.5X15 BFG MTs. The 33s rub a little now on the pinch weld with the stock wheels so I am looking for little to no rubbing. I am looking at either 15X7 with 4 in backspace, 15X8 with 4.75 in backspace, or 15X8 with 4 inch backspace. I dont want to do any trimming or anything to clear them so let me know what would work best for my application.

Question please help with tire decision

It has become time for me to replace my tires. Im running 31x10.50 bfg all terrains. I liked the tires alot. Now im wondering if there is a better tire out there that I should go with next. Im open to all suggestions as long as its a 31x10.50. Im not lookin to change sizes. My truck is a daily driver but it is also in the dirt like 1/3 of the time "when I mean dirt I mean dry stuff like sand and gravel (i live in vegas) if that gives you an idea". So let me know what you think is good out there and why it is so good. I have been lookin at the maxxis buckshot mudders but im still deciding and im not too sure. I want to try something different than my bfgs. Please let me know. I dont want to buy something that sucks. Thanks. Oh and post a pic of the tire if you got one. Just so I can see the tread pattern.

265/75-r16's or 235/85-r16 on a stock Runner?

Will 265/75-r16's rub at all on a stock 96 limited Runner? I'm looking to get a bit bigger tire than stock. These will be about an inch bigger.

or is a 235/85-r16 a better choice?

or maybe a 31/10.50???

Any input on any of these sizes?? I'm trying not to kill my gas mileage...

Thanks...
