hey guys, i was wondering if any of you have dick cepek dc 1's on ur tundras? ive been looking into getting a set for my 02 tundra sr5 access cab trd 4x4 . its bone stock. I was looking on tire rack and they say the rims will fit my truck, 16x8, with 4.09" backspacing. they say that i can get tires 265/70/16, but a lot of people say i can go with a 265/75/16, with no rubbing etc, my main concern is the backspacing, can anyone steer me the right direction?

Would the aftermarket wheels from my 1991 Pickup fit onto a 1986 4Runner? The aftermarket wheels fit without any spacers or fender messaging.

You should be fine as long as you stick with the 265/75 (or the 265/70). I ran 265/75 with the Wheelers steel rims (BS 3 3/4") no rub. I know several that run that size on stock rims with no problems either. It'll be fine...

i have a stock 88 4runner sr5. need to know if i can fit 33x12.5 tires?
rims are 15x8 with about 4.5 b/s

if anyone have this set up. i like to see a picture on there stock 4runner

Clarify "fit".

Do you mind cutting or pounding at all?

If so, then no. If you don't mind flattening the pinch weld on the back of the front fender, then it will fit with just a minor bit of rubbing at full stuff, on the inner plastic. If you remove the plastic, you'll probably not see much rubbing at all, but you'll get a bunch of crap all over your door hinges every time you drive in the mud, which can be a pain.

both thank you. guess ill keep looking. i been looking for used rims and tires because i want a wider look. so i want rims/tires to stick out a little.

with backspacing. do i want 3.75 or 4 inch bs? which one would give a wider look?

Will 32x11.5 tires with cragar soft 8 15x8 fit on my 94 4Runner no lift with no rubbing? Or will I need to trim.

You will likely need to pound the pinch weld flat, and trim a little of the plastic inner fender. If you like a narrower look, a 33x10.5 will fit nicely with less rubbing.

I've read that running 33x10.5 u should re-gear. I have 4.56 right now and with 31x10.5 it's slow already... But I guess 32x11.5 and 33x10.5 would have the same power loss. Would say running 1" spacers make the rubbing issue worse or less if I were running the 32x11.5? The wider tire is somewhat more appealing to me.

MY above post gear ratio is incorrect. I actually have 4.88's With 33x10.5 tires would i need to regear??

To answer your questions:

The spacers will make the rubbing worse.

You won't see all that much of a difference between the 32 and the 33. With the auto and 4.88's, you will feel quite slow either way. Regearing is a great option.

Thanks AxleIke. I'm just gonna go with some 31x10.5x15 bfgoodrich km2's for now and save money for more important things... like gears and lockers.

Just so you know, I had 31's when I got my 4Runner and now I have 33x12.50's and 4.88's. I did notice a bit of a difference but this is not my DD so I didn't mind so much. I'd get the 33's if I were you.

to all the gearheads out there: ive got an 86 with 30 x 9.5 on stock rims. (going fast in the desert was always my thing not rock crawling) do i need to regear? am i working engine too hard with the larger tires? ive had an engine issue or two when i load truck down with construction stuff (3 ladders on rack etc) and head to mexico to build little house for people..........what gearing would get me back to stock ratio?

I've been thinking about what you said... Your right I might as well go with the 33's they look so much better. But I think I'm going to stick with the 10.5 instead of 12.5. Do yours rub bad in the front?

After reading through this thread and others I just want to make sure I am correct on my assumptions. I have a 1998 4runner SR5 V6 4x4 I am looking into getting a OME 3" lift/suspension kit. I can run 265/75R16 no problem correct?
Would I be able to run 285/75R16 without any mods (besides the OME kit) and would there be any rub? Any need to re-gear?

And just for giggles, could I run the 265/75R16 on the stock 4runner?

Oh the wheels are the stock alloy 16" yota rims as far as BS is concerned.
