Just got some new tires

I really had a good experience on my Nitto TGs for the last 4 years and 45k miles on and off road but I wanted to try something different and more agressive looking so I figured I'd try a set of the new Goodyear Duratracs. I'm looking forward to some snowy weather and getting these off road.

The looks have already gotten me stopped in a parking lot by an FJ and a Tacoma owner wanting a rundown and thought they looked great on my truck and that was in the first hour I had them on.

Give an update on how they do for you off road. I'm about to need some new shoes for mine

They look like 265/75/16's. I'm also considering these for my next set, but in 235/85/16. They look good though. Hope the perform just as well. Another plus is that they are rated for Severe winter snow conditions, just like the BFG KO's.

Yeah, they the 265/75s but do seem a tad taller than my Nittos were. I'm looking forward to getting them out in the snow and ice and really test them. My Nittos did quite well through 4 winters and never really had an issue so I'm expecting alot since the Nittos weren't "snowflaked".

The guy at Discount matched their Discount Direct site's price of the Nittos and got them for $155 each and added the certificates for free replacement and got out the door $785 (+$50 tax) lighter.

THose look good, I've been looking at those for the wife's 4Runner, definitely curious to see how they perform. Is that a cracked egg in front of your tire?

No,that's dried up leaf debris but it does look like an egg now that you pointed it out.

I did get a drive in today on some pretty slick mix of ice and a little snow this morn and the tires did quite well and had e abit better turn in bite than my Nittos did but I want some real snow to play in.

I hear ya, if we're going to have weather like this we should at least get some snow out of it. All this is good for is causing accidents.

Did they drop your mpg any further than the Nittos? Do you recall what the mileage change was from the stock tire to the Nittos?

I haven't noticed any mileage change but the ride is a tad softer then the Nittos.

Did you get the C's? If so, how is the on-road handling?

Yes,I got the Cs and they definelty ride a bit softer than the Nittos I had and in this morning's little snowy commute they handled quite well and didn't slip at all but i still haven't pushed them but I am heading out in the white stuff shortly as we should have a foot and a half by tonite.
