Advantages of 17" FJ wheels on my 1998 Tacoma with stock 15" wheels?

I have a 1998 Tacoma with the stock aluminum 6-spoke (with two spokes close together) wheels. After about 150,000 miles, the stock aluminum wheels are a bit scratched and oxidized, and the clear coat is chipping off. I've located a stock set of black 17" steel wheels from a 2007 (I think) FJ for $50 for all four. My question is, would these wheels fit my 98 Taco, and if so, what size of tires would be closest to stock circumference? And the most important question - is there any advantage to going with 17" wheels for my 98 Taco? 17" tires seem to be a lot more expensive than the stock 31x10.5x15's. Right now the truck is completely stock, but I'd love to put an Old Man Emu 1.5" - 2" lift on it some day (if I can justify the cost for and older truck with 150,000 miles)!

Buy them and sell them for a profit to help buy the tires you want in 15".

IIRC, If you happen to go with Tundra calipers, you will need a larger rim.

The 17'swill be more responsive, because of having a shorter sidewall. They will also be more likely to pop a bead, and a harsher ride. Good for cars - Bad for trucks in my opinion. If you start to run larger tires like 35's it's less of an issue.

I recently bought a set of 5 17 FJ Cruiser steelies. There really wont be an issue if you're running a larger tire ( i'll be using 35s on mine ) 17s are better for road mannerisms, and what not. I'd buy them anyway, 50 bucks is a killer deal.
