The Pett crapper

http://www.thepett.com/

Anyone using one?

I have read a little bit about them, will be doing more research.

I have a nice Sears two piece battery flush porta-crapper, but it is heavy and cumbersome to haul in a rig.

I use to use it years ago in my tent trailer I had.

Something like the Pett system that comes with a case and privacy shelter makes more sense to haul.

There is a good 10 MB video on the site too.

I thought this was for your PET.

I'm like "a pet crapper?"

OK, two items just ordered.

The crapper

The pic-nic table

Both get very good reviews.
I have seen the table elsewhere for almost double, the exact same table.
However the other place does have a black case for the table, but it is not worth that much extra.
Plus the table is on sale right now from Cabela's.

My goal here it to pretty much be self contained.
I never do a sit down job in a public restroom or outhouse if camping in a pay campground.
Hence why I had a portable two piece porta potty when I had the tent trailer years ago.

With this equipment, I will be be able to camp just about anywhere.
Many nice places to camp up where I wheel too up at Greenwater.
No crappers or tables there.
Just nice sites on the river.

Yeah, plus those logs will not be thawing out anytime soon either

I have seen those beautiful snow pics you have posted.

On the privacy issue, it happens everytime to me.
You are out with the gang 4wheeling and find a bush for #1, you look around, and no one is around.

Next thing you are doing your thing and someone just happens to walk right by you.

Murphy's Law I guess.

I agree with Corey. You could be on the North Pole, and just when you pull your pants down and start to get to business, the one stranded hiker sees you.

I like the table, but does it come with a crapper attatchment, so you don't have to buy, or carry around both?

Ya, my grandparents made a trek to Alaska years ago. They were out in the middle of nowhere and had not seen anyone for hours. The women had to go, so they pulled over. Just as they were getting settled, a car came from both directions. : ) Murphy's Law alright!

Ya, that Porta-Crapper idea looks like a great unit for places like the Rubicon and other high traffic trails with only dry camping and facilities. I know this is a hot topic around here.

I have a similar table that came with an umbrella thing too the table is very nice and stable though I find the seats can be somewhat narrow and slightly over firm at times you could make some thin cushions to solve that problem. Also if you are anything over 5'10" you will find it cramped for leg room when seating four I know I do...

500,000 square kilometers with 30,000 people residing in the Yukon and 75% of those people are located in 400 square kilometers... it makes for a LOT of privacy!
Ahhh Man! Like i needed that image in my head... I knew you had to watch out for animal #1 when walking in the bush but now i have to look out for yours too? You could have stooped and scooped you know your supposed to right?

I was looking at that web show "In the motherhood" at work the other day, [I was bored and I like leanne rheime (sp) ok] anyways there was an episode about camping and leane and her "daughter" stepped away from the campsite to "take care of biz" and just as she drops trou a family walks by on a hike, the tag of the scene is the voice of the little boy "Why did that lady have a blue mark on her bum?" cut to leane talking about an ACDC tat... very funny
