Nice knife. That should cut your meal prep times by a half second.

Nice. I'm partial to my Spyderco Mariner:

Nice, though my edge weapons instructor discourages assisted opening knives in the event you wind up in front of a jury.
So, I went with what I trained on, a Bram Frank designed Lapu Lapu Corto, a kinetic opener that doubles as a non-lethal pressure point persuader:

I really liked my Spydreco Mariner, I dropped while working on a boat, when I went back to get it, it was gone. the boat owner had no idea what I was talking about when I asked him about the knife even though he was standing right where I dropped it. About 10 years ago I found one of these
http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=214 sitting on a rock, not as nice a the Mariner but I carry it more than any of the others I have.

Thanks Bob.
I am also going to order the mini Covert later on. The one I just got is kind of big for a pocket. It is a serious weapon, something one might take to a knife fight ![]() No worries on the court thing, this knife is solely for camping. Chores around camp like cutting guyline rope, whittling on sticks around the campfire, and fending off killer chipmunks. The chipmunks up at Mt. Rainier are relentless for begging for food, and if they do not get their way, they will put a contract hit out on you. One of these days I will have to lay out all of my knives and snap a pic to post. I have one that is probably from the late 1800s that was my grandfathers.

Heh, nothing worse than beligerent chipmunks.
Sounds like a nice collection there. I'd show my grandfather's knife but they weren't invented yet.

If you get a chance Bob, check out this knife at a store.
One of the best in my collection now. Only tactical knife I own though next to that LMF one. The latter is a beast, it is what the soldiers use in Iraq and other places.

Just ordered the mini one from REI.
Yes, more money than Cabelas for the mini, but I had a 20% off coupon and my dividend to spend, so it came out way cheaper. Bought some other items too, but that is for a different thread. http://www.rei.com/product/787211 ![]() I asked Boeing security about my current one if it was OK to bring to work, and the answer was no. Not because it is almost like a switchblade (being spring assisted) but because the blade is 3.75" long. Boeing states that personal knives even if used for work must have a maximum blade length of 3". After I get this one I will try to get a pic of mt whole collection, and link the post here to the huge knife thread that is elsewhere.

Mini me has arrived.
Ordered it Thursday along with the two Klean Kaneteens seen in another thread in this section. I ordered it from REI since they have the Kanteens, and it takes less time to get it than ordering it from Cabelas. I would have got the full size Covert knife from REI, but they do not sell it. They only sell the mini one. Gerber Mini Covert FAST Serrated Knife ![]() Ahhhhhh, are they not cute? They make a cute couple do they not? ![]() The smaller one I can legally carry now at work since the blade is under 3".

Those do look good, light and compact, plus versatile with the serrations. We'll be looking for you on youtube...

He he, wish I was that good Bob.
The little knife is a hit here at work. I will have to show it to security later, I bet they will like to get one like this.

As long as you don't flash it around it should be ok... do they limit the chefs in the cafeteria to 3" knives? I use a cleaver in my kitchenette here at work on the airfield and no one says boo to me... nice looking knife though... I want one of those belt buckle concealed ones myself for regular wear...

Weapons are prohibited on any Boeing property to protect us from workers gone postal. Someone could say I had a weapon, and security has no choice but to strip my vehicle down, especially since 911. If I was found to have the first knife I bought, I would lose my job. Not worth losing my job over. I play by the rules there so I can retire from there someday. All vendor trucks that go into the main plants or any Boeing site that is behind secure gates that require going past a guard shack get searched by sniffer dogs (explosives they are looking for) and using mirrors to look under the trucks. All this went down after 911. The kitchens are much different.
