My camp requirements change depending on who I go with. If I camp solo, like I did last week in Death Valley for five days, then the goal is less set-up for less hassle. I go with a jetboil stove, camp chair and extreme cooler. However if I go with the wife and friends then its the hot water shower, pop-up privy, lounge chair and fire pan for smores!
I have to say that the tarp attached to the truck without guide lines is great and allows me to move around the back of the truck without tripping over guide lines or poles and has the advantage that I can move the truck if needed without taking the tarp down.
The other thing that has made extended camping nice has been the propane water heater with 12v pump. There is nothing better than a nice little shower at the end of a hot dusty day!

I don't know why no one has mentioned this (maybe they don't make them anymore?) but the Coleman Fire'n'Ice Grill is the ultimate camping companion! It even comes with utensils and shelves! But I camp in TX where its hot and we all love BBQ
