Sounds like a formality. I post over there almost every day with no issues. There are not very many companies where the sales manager, shop manager, the Big boss, and their lead Engineer will answer your questions directly online. Try a little harder to resolve your issue with them before you come on here bashing them. I've met most of the trail gear team at various events and they are all great guys.

Corey that is kind of weird. I wonder if there is a trail-gear forum that is a .ca or something.

As you know I have bought a ton of trail gear junk and always got decent quick responses and good customer service.--with the exception of instructions for the IFS steering box mount...they pretty much dropped the ball on that one

I find this very hard to believe...Canadian or otherwise.

Instead of taking the time to whine about it, take that same time to drop them a quick email or pick up the phone and resolve the mistake/issue.

I am sorry you have experienced problems using the Trail-Gear BBS. It is nothing personal against you but we have been slammed with spam and porn posts on our board. At this time over 300 domains have been blocked from using our system due to constant spam. All email address from these domains are blocked.

After getting through this first block, I personally look at each address once each day. Of these I delete 9 out of 10 of them because they say right in the address that it is from a porn or spam site. When I see a user name of "sexyhotmovies" or hotbabe@sexslavves.net I just delete them before they are ever able to post up.

Even with the two above restriction we still receive more spam and porn posts than all other posts on our site. Think about it, if we just allow anyone to sign up and post our forum would be totally overrun and I would be spending the entire day deleting crap off the board.

Every hour of the day we have to remove bad posts and ban new users as it is. I simply don't know how to fix the problem. I am not a computer programmer. I don't know how to fix the code to prevent this stuff from happening.

I would be happy to get you signed up manually. If you send me an email with the user name you would like, I will add you to the system and email you a password.

I have considered locking the registration system completely and only allowing new users to sign up via email.

Chris, is your forum VB software like this?
If so, get this plugin, I use it here, and it stops all the spammers who sign up with a bit script.

They use bots to sign up in under 15 seconds, and the IS Bot mod will stop them cold.
It emails me each time one of them tries to sign up here, and I get about 50 to 75 emails a day from the server here letting me know it caught one.
It does not even let them get regged up.
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...ight=spam+mods

Example of a bot it caught a few minutes ago.
Quote:
The following user name with email address was blocked by the Is Bot mod: Viagra_Kaufen - thesun@yalta.krim.ws (2 seconds transpired)
No human can sign up in under 15 seconds, the default setting for the plugin, but it can be changed also.

What was your domain name? I use Google mail and never had a problem with any forum. AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail and all the other accounts like this sometimes does not work.

Just think, if this was 10 years ago, and you bought something from them, it wouldn't have ever mattered, cause message boards were pretty much un heard of. Just because there is a technical issue doesn't mean they are a bad biz. They specialize in truck equipment, not computer programming!
