It must suck to be a Democrat

1. Hillary wants all of the caucus and primary votes to count so that the delegates can all be seated at the National Convention---where the candidate for President is chosen by those very same delegates. She says that she does not want to disenfranchise ANY voter.
2. BUT, she states that the delegates are free to vote for whomever they wish, no matter how the state they represent voted.
So...I ask you...Why in the bloody hell do Democrats even bother with a caucus or primary? Just skip the pointless caucuses and primaries and get all of the "Delegates" and "Super Delegates" together and let them vote. That would save millions and millions of dollars and the people's votes don't really count anyway.

"Super" Delegate. That must be some special individual. I figure their vote is worth at least as much as, say, 1 or 2 million of the dumb schmoes that waste their time going to the polls.

And isn't it ironic that the party with a name that reflects "democracy" (one man, one vote)---Democratic Party--- is actually the party in which the average Joe's vote is worth....well, absolutely nothing.

I am just sayin'......

Some interesting points there.

So... I assume we should all be voting Republican then since there is zero evidence of idiocy or wasteful government to be found on the Elephants side of the hall.

i always thought that the Democrats had an appropriate mascot.

Both sides of the political process have demonstrated their inability to be trustworthy and have historically provided examples of having their collective heads in a darky smelly place.

I don't know about you, but I kinda like all the drama on the left side of the fence.

I thought 2008 was the year we elect another president, not a drama queen.

Those poor folks in Florida can't handle another recount anyway. I don't think they have even realized what happened in 2000.

PS, no offense to any Floridians, but to avoid any future confusion, please punch out the ballot completely, as this time, there will be no counting of hanging chads.

Well shoot, im not even voting this year. I would but i miss out by 2 weeks, but i think if i were able to vote i would have paid way more attention and would actually be able to make a decision. So in all spirits heres a joke.

"why did Monica Lewinsky change to being a republican?

Because the democrats left a bad taste in her mouth!"

Sorry if i offend anybody who finds that joke immature, but too bad!

hey i heard it so i thought id share it!

So the key to winning the presidential election is to not be ugly?
If that were true, Gore should have beat Bush in a landslide... not a slight margin.

Vote for whomever you like. But at least if you vote Republican, your vote will count/will have counted.

Your vote for a Democrat was/will be entirely symbolic. Symbolizing...wait for it...nothing. Or perhaps simply, that you are a mindless sheep, casting your vote for someone you may or may not like and having that vote discarded so that a career politician (delegate) that one candidate or the other owns outright will vote the way you should have voted in their opinion.
Afterall, according to Democrats, the average Joe is too stupid to know how to do much of anything, much less vote intelligently. He needs someone that knows better to vote for him.

Thanks for straightening that all out.

I like knowing that a vote for a Republican is a safe vote for us all.

Who said anything thing about "safe?" You want safe, check into the clinic with the padded rooms. I said "count." As in the intended purpose of a vote...to be counted.
Clearly the vote for McCain would be very, very dangerous. Particularly for anyone associated with, or even friendly with, Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is just waiting for either Obama or Hillary to win the nomination so they can come out and endorse the Democrat nominee.

Are you saying that the Al Qaeda organization are Democrats... or Democrats are part of Al Qaeda?

I'll say that between the two options, Al Queda would prefer the model the Dems advance over that of the Reps.

I'll also contend that whether intentionally or not, what the Dems have done strategically for political advantage, has benefitted Al Queda...

So a rose by any other name smells as sweet.

It seems then that the purpose of this thread was to ...

A. Point out that the voting process the Democrat party uses "sucks".
B. To explain that when voting for a Democrat your vote doesn't really count.
C. To compare Democrats to Al Queda in regards to their political model.

If all that's true... what's the goal of this thread then?

Although a board where Toyota enthusiasts come to talk about mods and trails and such would be the last place to debate such a topic...

... couldn't the argument be made that Republican policies over the last 7 or more years have also given Al Queda more recruitment fuel and welcomed instability then they could have ever imagined or achieved on their own?

I love it. You actively participate in a thread and then at some point decide that it would be a better idea to attack the thread itself that actually enter into a logical debate.

I think one of the most important functions of 4X4 forums in general is to unite like minded wheelers around common causes that are vital to the survival of our outdoor adventures. So, politics will undoubtedly become part of the conversation.

Which party is "generally" anti-gun, anti-hunting, anti-off road vehicles, oppose modifications to vehicles...et cetera??? We all know the answer to that.

So whether you like it or not, politics is the elephant in the room.
