Dude statetroopers suck!!!!!

So today i stop at a stop light and a stater pulls out behind me. Instantly when i saw him turn on the blinker to turn the same way as me i knew I was geting pulled over. Well i didnt have my bumper on duh to the fact of bent brackets. and i didnt have mud flaps on and i didnt have fender flaires.
So i asked him why all of my friends with lifted trucks with no flaires or mud flaps OR bumpers have got pulled over. He goes well bye pulling you over im one step closer. Than replys with a very a$$ hole tone that, this is how he has made his living for 10 years. Than when going and looking to see if i need flaires HE SMACKS the side of my truck (fresh paint) with multiple hits and not soft at all. I was so pissed off that when he said have a good day i told him not to.
GGGRRR sorry guys just needing to vent!!!

I'm glad we have yearly inspections around here so people never really get pulled over for stuff like that.

I'm sure your friends will eventually deal with their scoffing of the laws too. It sucks but the cop was really just doing his job.

I got a $50 ticket for "unlawfully launching of missles" ticket when out in a state park today with my nephew shooting his model rockets. It is the law but wasn't posted as such and was in a safe area away from people, houses, power lines but the law in the books states this and some party pooper just driving by called the cops and the Ranger showed up and issued the ticket.

So, you knew your vehicle did not have all the equipment? If so, sounds to me like it was when not if you were getting a ticket.

I honestly don't mean to sound like a jackass, but I always try to keep all required equipment working on my truck, and the cop was only doing his job.

well the mud flap part was beyond stupid because as i sat there i watched a GOOD 15 trucks go bye with out flaps most of them taller. And the fender flaire b.s. i looked up the tires must stick out over 3 inches. Mine are a inch so him beating on my truck was unneccesary. And the bumper yes i knew it was wrong not to have but i was working on getting the brackets straightened and a new bumper.

after calling my mom to let her know she said oh you mean the stater that has another toyota pulled over? (It was the same one, both k9 units)
i think he is out to get us toyota lovers.

I agree it sucks but in my experience just admitting defeat and being
courteous to cops usually goes a lot farther than arguing with them why
you feel you're above the law.

I'll admit, my truck violates each law yours does and then some. But its not
my DD, I drive carefully and keep to the speed limit, and I'm fully prepared
to face the conseqences should I ever get pulled over.

Now, in my neck of the woods the law doesn't really worry too much about
vehicle modifications, with the exception of noise violations. My truck is loud
enough to set off Porsche alarms, but I keep her under 2k riding past the
police station and in suburban areas. What I'm saying is, don't ask to be
pulled over, and if you do, throw out the white flag early and don't mouth off

When I was in HS, there was this city cop that used to go into the student parking lot every couple weeks while every one was in class, and measure how far people's tires stuck out, he'd look underneath it to check for the catalytic converter, he'd make sure there wasn't any beer cans in, or around the rig, check for mud flaps, fender flares, etc. Then, he'd mark every violation, and leave a ticket under the windshield wiper.

So, yes, I agree, small town cops suck. It seems like any idiot can get a gun and a badge. No offense to any respectable law enforcement officers that may, or may not be on here at any given time, if you're a cop, and you've stopped a crack head for making a deal, or pulled over someone who was drunk behind the wheel, you're alright in my book.

Yup..
There's cops who enforce the laws and keep the streets clen.
Then there's cops who have image problems and go on power trips.

So, let me get this right. You are bitching because the cop pulled you over when, by your own admission, your truck is illegal due to lack of mud flaps, flares, or even a rear bumper?

And then, you want the stater to pull over the other people whos truck is just the same as yours? So what makes you exempt from the law? Its not up to the state to make sure you dont have bent bumper brackets. if its broke, fix it! Or dont drive.

X2, and even X3. If you're going to drive around in a vehicle that doesn't meet the regs and get stopped don't come looking for sympathy from me.

i have to agree with the cop, what you have said is not an "Excuse". can you say... all the gang bangers are killing people every day and didn't get caught, why shouldn't i kill one or two??

there are good laws, there are stupid laws, if you can't change it, deal with it. we have a legal system, use it for your own good.
a.) go to the court fight your ticket
b.) put your $h!t back on, go to the court get your ticket voided.
c.) hire an atterney, sue the SOB cop and get the State paid you for a brand new paint job plus some emotional damage so you can put more good $h!t on your trcuk.

ps. talk about stupid laws, in 2000 i was pulled over by a CHP for not having my front lic. plate on. he had my car towed because he didn't want to wait me to go home to pick up the plate then put back on. i later get the ticket void via inspection, but the tow and storeage bill was $132 just for couple hours.
