Thats true, there aren't many auto chicks. So when you find one who drives a 71 Chevelle, knows more about cars than you, and does all the work on her car herself, KEEP HER!!!! That's what I did and it's working for me .

"...i'm just a girl living in capitivity, your rule of thumb makes me worry some...oh i'm just a girl, what's my destiny? what i've succumbed to is making me numb...oh, i've had it up to...oh, i've had it up to...oh oh oh, i've had it up to...heeeeere..." (BTW, No Doubt kicked butt when they were here in O-town in...um...bollocks, I can't remember when they were here, but they were GOOD!)

*heh heh* Now that I've gotten that song ingrained in ALL your heads, I want you to know that I haven't been ignoring ya'll...I tried logging onto this site the day after I posted my original message, but for some reason, couldn't get on. Could get to eBay, edmunds.com and a lotta others, but *aaaargh* not here... Then real life got in the way...and after three days, I'm ba-a-a-a-ack.

First off, thank ye all SO kindly for all the words o' welcome. I'm just crackin' up at the fact that my post has gotten 60-some replies and 1800 (!) views? Good God...this feels like '91 when I was touring Air Force bases in a 4-man, 3-woman band. In those more remote places (like Kunsan, Korea and Galena, Alaska), I didn't have to pay for a single meal or drink...

Thanks also to turboale, whiteSR5, BT17R, GoodTimes, Andrey, impulse, aviator and 1runner for some actual help with my problems.

As for Tacomadude, Cebby and the rest of you, thanks at least for the laughs and all this attention *blushing*. Ya'll know how to make a girl feel important (not that I needed it, mind you)...

And to answer some o' your questions:

Yup, the (Titanium) 'Runner's my first Toyota, and my brother (a mechanic) has nothin' but praise for Toyotas. (He cursed me out of envy when I found out I was actually looking at a 4Runner.) My previous ride was a '92 Honda Accord Ex coupe, and it just got too comical packing my two mutts (60 and 35 pounds) into the back seat. (The Accord still rocks, and she's what I take to work. ) The 'Runner gets out on "special" occasions and whenever I need to take my "babies" somewhere...otherwise, she sits under covered parking, waiting for this summer, when I'm taking her for a drive to the Keys, D.C., NYC and Niagara Falls. She'll get to camping in the fall and when I get to my next assignments in AZ and WA, she'll get her feet dirty on some off-road trails.

Though I'd love to freak some' o' ya out and say I was a "he" e-masquerading as a "she"--let me put the questions to rest and say I'm ALL female (at least last time I checked).

TSTango...good job pickin' up on the Night Ranger reference. Crystin's my middle name, and I'm unashamed to say I was a hair-band lovin' child o' the 80's. (Saw Def Leppard about 2 1/2 weeks ago @ the Daytona Beach Ocean Center, using the 'Runner's Nav to guide us there.) BTW, sorry for helping put the songs on replay in your head...guess it's better than voices?

96runner, mertztr and 95FourRunner...I'm a nurse, guys...it'll take more than the likes o' YOU to scare me off. Bring it on, boys...

Woodbert: Kadena Air Base, Okinawa...my days there were among my favorites on that tour. I can't remember specific names anymore, but the sax player, bass player and I hung out a lot with this half-black, half-white, long-frizzy-haired dude who took us snorkeling and driving all over the place. I cut my finger coming back in from snorkeling one day, though; the beach we were at was one where it wasn't a sandy bottom but reef that gradually went deeper and deeper...once we couldn't see bottom anymore, we just kinda hung out where we were.

We three women (who affectionately referred to ourselves as the b------ of Eastwick, and we had a competition going to see who could collect the most patches from different airmen) took turn doing lead vocals on various songs, and most of the songs I did was r&b/soul stuff...so I was a big hit with "the brothahs". This dude nicknamed "Hatchet" and his gang were my biggest fans, and I'd go out and sing to them at their table, sitting in their laps and flirting shamelessy with 'em. *sigh* Ahh, to be 20 and single again.

By the way, one o' the other girls (she slept ONLY with officers, and collected patches from each one) didn't know she was supposed to get a special license/permit to drive there, got an officer's car impounded, and had a few of us go with her to the impound lot to "steal" the car back.

Sis,

Yeah, Okinawa is a great place. I've got a JetSki and you can really find some great beachs to snorkle that you can only get to on the water. No land approaches to the best locations.

Only slept with 0's and Airman to boot? Man was she missing out
