Thank you, Brother. I'll hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. The tranny was going, so hopefully they broke it completely and she is just hanging out somewhere. I had a mountain bike and a bunch of gear in the truck as well.
My neighbor has a camera that looks over the area where it was at, but our neighborhood is so quiet he had just stopped using it. |

Damn im sorry man...it is possible to get it back. But its rare with Toyotas. Hopefully like you said its sitting somewhere.....hopefully just a couple of kids that wanted a thrill.
I truly hope you get it back in one piece!

I even got the feeling I was being cased when I got out of the truck, but I ignored it since I was returning with some First-Aid stuff for my wife who had gotten a steam burn from opening a pan of water on the stove.
Should have listened to my gut and taken the rotor out of the distributor... Live and Learn; I read your thread about the guy trying to slim your rig, pretty priceless. It's too sad that folks get transformed into desperate zombies. |

yeah I had the same "should've followed my gut" thing a few years back. I was going to UTI in Sacramento and I had a 92 Ford Ranger 4x4 at the time. I had just put in a BADA$$ system about a few days before. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldnt sleep....so i though "ill listen to my iPod". Then I remembered it was in my truck....I was too lazy to go and get it then I heard a noise and thought nothing of it and turned on the TV. Pretty sure that noise was them breaking my window.
Yeah my Toyota has been succesfully broken into 3 times and failed attempts 2. I feel bad for it....but that just means I got a nice truck!!

Mine has the POS theft deterrent system, but I guess it wasn't ugly enough to work...

Toyotas disappear like crazy in the Portland Metro Area...it sucks.
Another Local member had his 85 4Runner stolen a few weeks ago..he was lucky enough to get it back minus a few parts... edit- I will keep an eye out, I cruise craigslist all the time looking for the infamous killer deals..

There was a post on my facebook of a guy that had a 90's runner stolen from that area. It was SAS'd on like 40's. White with black wheels and nice bumpers.

I appreciate it guys! I have been cruising around Larch Mt. for a few hours, and I will continue to comb the neighborhoods. Have warned the two other folks in my neighborhood who have cherry rigs.
Will always apply a GPS device after this! Rogue: I should have said the simulated POS theft deterrent system; truly she has (keeping the faith) a lot of character! |

I sure hope so, they can have the nice stereo and GT XCR 3000 mountain bike that was in it for their "reward" of not stripping it.
My Old Man always called the '85 4Runner I had in Maine years ago a POS, but he was just ribbing me, and was also doing a frame-off restoration on a '54 Willy's Pickup. |

FYI: I forgot to mention the 22re motor was from a Celica, and has the knock sensor tapped into a boss on the block, and the PO painted it (the engine) green.

Hey ocdropzone,
I scoured both cameras and computers and I can't see to come up with any photos, but it is very nearly like the one in this picture: ![]() My rig does not have the vent shade, but it does have the triangle vent window. The running boards are more aluminum/grey than black. Same wheels, but way more oxidized. Same color cap. The graphics on mine were more white and brown rust colored than black as well. I still hope my errant girl will be found. |
