Inland Empire, CA Beware!

I came home today, noticed that my the seats in my truck were forward, so I went out there to check what was up. To my dismay, someone had broken into my truck!!! They stole a really old alpine tape deck radio, my sunroof insert, coin tray, mag light, sunglasses (which are prescription, so of no use to them), and some other random stuff.

The sunroof insert is what really makes me angry. That was the one thing that was keeping that truck somewhat cool. Plus, the fact that someone took it probably indicates that he/she probably owns a similar truck. Who else would think to take such a specific piece out of a 23 year old truck? I don't really care much about the radio, since it probably wasn't worth a thing. I'm furious that someone broke into my car

I filed a police report. When the cops came over, they were saying that this is the 4th pre-1990 Toyota pickup that has been broken into or stolen within the last week. I don't know what the heck is going on, but I don't like it! So if you live in the Inland Empire, specifically around Redlands and San Bernardino, be super careful about keeping your truck secure!

Cats still there. Are they highly sought after or something?

Actually, I was pretty fortunate that those crackheads didn't help themselves to things under the hood. It could have been a lot worse. I think I'm going to look into getting an alarm and maybe a Club. I don't have much option but to park on the street. I have a garage, but my 2000 Land Cruiser is in there, which is worth a bit more than my 86 pickup

The crack heads love our trucks cause theyre easy to climb under, and they can get about 100 bucks each at a scrap yard..

It's even a problem up here in Michigan. Somebody was running around hitting all the Enterprise and other cargo/15 passenger van rental companies last summer. One store's security camera caught it on tape, only takes a minute or two with a sawzall or a portable cutoff wheel. There's platinum in there, people want to sell them for "scrap" (black market parts and rapper's mouths more likely).
