Starts using the search function at the top of the page. also search the forums as theres an entire section on motor swaps. IMO the 350 is too big and heavy without doing mad amounts of fab and other work to have it as your powerplant. Another great option thats a chevy motor for you is the 4.3. better choice IMO into that truck

4.3 is just about the easiest swap for a Toyota, and the best bang for the buck.

if youre stuck on a v8, a buick 350 would be perfect!
it is about an inch wider/taller/longer then a 350 but it'll fit(same kit as buick 231/3.8 v6) the kicker is it only weighs 450lbs. and if you want to convert to a serpentine setup you'd just have to get the parts for a gn setup. but a chevy 4.3 will give it good performance without being overpowering and unlike a chevy 350 both can be had used for low $$ more so on the buick 350.. |

Thats what makes the 350 swap so desireable.

around my area, chevy 350s go for 450 to 600(plenty for 500)
buick 350 you can find a 70-80k engine for 50 bucks to 150...just picked one up for 400 with only 23k on it ive found plenty of 80k 4.3 for 150 to 250 was just stating you can fid both those engines for same milage or less for less cash |

Do your homework bro on that swap. A 1980 only has 31 inches of space from firewall to where the radiqtor mounts. I'm currently installing a 302 and it's tight, even with the short Ford Racing water pump kit it's a bitch to get it all in without fabricating/modifying anything.
