Thanks man. Yah I'll take lots of pics but it's gonna be a while cause I got to wait for foot and because there's slot of little tid bits to find haha. Best thing would of been to get the Mercedes car. But cheapest one was 2800$.... And this engine was only 350 prob gonna cost close to a grand for all the various little things I need.

Yeah, I hear ya.... Talk to Truckman and a couple others who've done this... I'm SURE they'll quickly line you up with where to look/what to look for, etc. One was up for sale the other month on CL.... 85 4Runner, Full interior roll cage, fully rebuilt OM617 with Referee Papers/Passed.. 8K$. VERY reasonable.

I think with the lighter trucks like the 1st Gen PU's, Truckman is getting like 33mpg's... LOVING the power, etc. I think the 3RZ and 7MGE's are a good swap too... Lil easier than some to match up, etc. Keeping it "TOY" isn't bad either...but this seems to be a very popular swap nowadays

Turbo Diesel Toyo'des lol.

Yah I'll msg those guys when the time comes I got slot of questions about the swap. I notice alot of guys cut their front body cross memeber to get the engine in with trans attached. But I also read that you can put engine in w/o trans then bolt trans on. But it must be a pita if everybody opts to cut instead. My truck has a 3" body lift so hopefully it will be a little easier. Plus it would be great if somebody could tell me exactly all the yota parts I need (cause alot of that is missing from 302 swap), and what Mercedes parts I need exactly. That's my main problem otherwise it's gonna be hit and miss figuring it out as I go along. Also what other mods need to be done, like oil pan clearance, cooling, gauges, etc etc.

Not sure on the last post... they'll know, most likely.

Far as the crate diesel? Hmmmm.... I'd just start searching... seems to be more of a PITA than I had thought. RBX is doing a KDTZ???(hehe.. Can't remember..KNOW it's K-series newer Turbo Diesel from Toyota)... And he has to really finagle to get it shipped from overseas, etc. He has a thread right now.... I WISH I had the cabbage to just copy him...it's gonna be SICK! But alas, I don't... But OF COURSE I would love to see a slurry of them over here, ya know?

hey guys, I work for Toyota here in Canada and I've got a simular settup in my 84 SR5. W type transmissions are actually stronger then a T5 if you get the right assortment of pieces. I actually took a W56 and a W58 and made one really stout version. W56 is a supra transmission and guys drag race these with turbos on them without issue. I took the W58 tail section and output shaft and built it into the W56 as the 56 is an "iRON CORE" transmission which meens the bearing plate in the middle of the transmission is cast iron and not aluminium and it also has bigger bearings. I have not dirven it yet but I had is side by side with a T5 out the mustang doner car and it was an easy choice to but the toyota trans back in the truck
