engine swap advice

hey everyone. i got me a 85 pickup not to long ago and after searching and searching i decided throwing money to the 22r that's in it aint worth it. too much money for too little gains. so i decided i'll start saving up money for a chevy engine swap like my dad did to his (now my little brothers) yota.
While my dad put a 305 in his toyota i'm thinking about going with a 4.3 v6, because while i would love to have that v8 power and torque i've first hand experianced all the problems with overheating from putting the big v8 into the yota engine bay. so my questions are does the shorter v6 have the same problems with keeping cool as the v8 or since its shorter does that allow you to run a bigger radiator so you wont have all the heating issues. also i know you gotta put a body lift on your truck for the v8 to fit. do you also have to do this for the v6 cuz i dont really want to put any body lift on the truck.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help i can get. Cya

A 4.3 will give you plenty of power escpecially the TPI or CPI. I have never had a heating issue and I use the stock chevy radiator on my CPI. I don't know how much lift you run, but there can be clearance issues with the oil pan, this is why people run body lifts. 1" bl wshould get you where you need to be. Hope this helps, and good luck.
