chevy 350 engine to trade!

I have an 86 4runner with the original 22RE that has spun a bearing I think. my Situation is this, I have a 89 chevy 350 engine in a chevy truck with a blown tranny, the engine is in great shape though, I have a very limited budget and so I have to be as frugal as possible with this. what I would like to do is trade the 350 to someone for a 22re that is equally good shape. what would you advise / recommend, and am I just dreaming?

If you're on a limited budget, you should at least pull the bottom end and confirm your spun bearing assumption. Generally, a 22re fix is a lot easier and cheaper than a 350 swap.

*EDIT*: I just saw your other cross-post about fixing a spun bearing.

yeah, I know that swaps are expensive and thats why I have been trying to find another solution.
I also agree with you about the fixing vs swapping engines, and if I were really a mechanic with the right facilities to work on it, I already would have.
I guess my point is that I would really love to just find another motor and have a real mechanic swap them out.......
