Body Lift for 4.3 Chevy Swap

I have a 94 4Runner that I'm swaping a 95 Chey 4.3 TPI high output into to replace the blown 3.0 V6. The 4.3 is complete with a 4L60E and I'm leaning towards using it in place of the existing R150F 5 Speed. The "How to" book I bought from Downey says it will require a body lift along with a suspension lift for pan clearance. Can someone who has done this swap tell me how much body lift I'll need (1", 2", or 3") to be able to remove the distributor, and close the hood?

Wow... 20" BL... I am sure you had plenty of room to work with.

My 91 runner is still in the process of getting the 4.3L put in, now its down to a few small things and the auto shifter (art carr gate shifter), but I was able to get away with installing the 1in BL from WabFab. Works just fine so far
