which axles?

i have a 93 mustang GT motor i'm thinking of putting in my 4runner, if my 4runner doesn't sell. I have Toyota axles and a set of Dana 44's. i keep hearing that toyota axles can be made just as strong, but then i will also read that too much power will "eat up" the ring and pinion. i have a set of 39.5 swampers i want to use also. the dana's have discs all around with 5.29 gears and lockers. the front toyota axle i have is an '83 and i would use my rear '89 V-6. Let the advice commence.......... also, i would appreciate any and all comments on this, like what exactly to put in the toy axles, etc.......

Dont put in the 44's get longs in the yota axles or some 60's. Now 60's with longs now that would be Set for life

Theres been a few threads about this matter you should look into! Search it and you shall find!

My vote is yota and longs before a 44 anyday!

I think you should stick with the yota axles and longs. I like to keep things toyota. But if you must got aftermarket get 60s or you could get diamond axles. As far as the motor is concerned I would stick with a toyota engine as well, but if you do go witht the mustang engine you may want to go ahead and upgade the tcase and tranny as well so that the entire driveline will handle the extra ponies.

Chevy 3/4 ton D44 front and 14b SF rear. Cheap and should handle the 5.0. Or get chromo axles front and rear for your Toy axles.

Bobby doesn't do rear shafts, but you can get stronger ones from Poly Performance. Toy rear shafts are a pretty stout part though. If you're going to swap axles, it's 1 Ton stuff or nothing IMO. If I was going to do it, it'd be a D60 front and a 14 bolt full floater in the rear.
