Not to piggyback, but I'm curious to see if anyone has used the Mercedes mounts successfully? The fluid-filled single bolt mounts from the W124 chassis were recommended to me. I took the easy way (at the time...) and used the Toyota mounts but now the vibration at low idle is IMO unacceptable. I did not replace the rubber when I did the swap, but I still think i will need to redesign.

Not mine but identical to what I made. Each build is slightly different in terms of engine placement.

Yes. As stated though I'm not too happy with the vibrations. This is rough drawing of how I plan to use the single-bolt Mercedes hydraulic mounts from the w124 series diesels. I've heard also Ford 300ci hydraulic mounts are nice to use.

Note = these are only to rough scale, ignore thickness of materials, bolt size, etc. Just simple ideas - I'll have to do all the final measurements in place.

Thanks for that any thing helps.

Did you end up pushing the motor and tranny back or is it all in the same location?

My engine and drivetrain are pushed by 4-1/2", that is the most I could do and still get the valve cover off.
I should have these new mounts made up next week, if they work out well I'll take dimensions and create a final drawing.

That'd be awesome and some detailed pictures would help out alot.

Mine is still in the stock location I ended up extending the front frame to make room the the radiator and pulleys I'll post some pics later on.

I have seen some Jeep guys use the stock Mercedes arms and weld in a scab plate and pocket on the inside of the frame rail to hold the stock Mercedes rubber mount. This could work but IFS makes it hard to work around.
It would be hard to make mounts the way I did because your engine is farther forward.

Here is how I made up some using the w124 series hydraulic isolators.
I chopped off the top of the stock mount bracket on the frame, welded a plate about 15 degrees off vertical to the remnants of the old mount braces, then made up arms to reach the isolator. On the drivers side, the arm barely clears the IP as these isolators are actually quite large.
Very glad I did this change - a phenomenal improvement over the stock mounts. Vibration is gone about idle speeds, and at idle is a very light pleasant sort of vibration. The truck is quieter as well due to the engine not shaking everything else to pieces....
