Looking to swap a diesel into a first gen 4runner

Hi so my last runner met an untimely end when the head blew and i couldn't afford to fix it so it was parted out and now i am left with a 1987 4 runner body and frame. Both of which i am completely restoring, i have fiberglass panels for the front and rear quarters, as well as the tailgate.

I plan on running 37" tires, with either a 4 link or wishbone suspension in the rear and a 2 link with a panhard bar for the front.

Now i am stuck as what to do for the engine and drive train. I would like to put in a diesel i have swapped an engine before with my brother for his volkswagen so i have some experience. A turbo diesel would be nice. For the drive train i am thinking dana 44s. and maybe a 5.10 gear ratio.

If anyone knows what diesel would fit nicely and what i should be looking for transmission wise and also any other axle suggestions would be nice.
