94 4runner v6 to om617 swap tdswaps kit

I'm new to the forum and just started a om617 swap useing tdswaps v6 mid line kit. went down to lebanon Wednesday and picked up my kit. got sum pointers from Brian on the swap. i had already got my om617 earlier this month, and pulled out my old 3vz. The main prob with the v6 was that in order for the Mercedes engine to fit the tranny has to go back 4 1/2" i found out that a 4 cly crossmember is back 3 1/4" ferther then the v6 crossmember. i should b able to fab a mounting tab with gussets to get me back the extra 1 1/4" needed. unfortunately i also realized that now i need a body lift to bolt the engine and trans togather.

Finally found a shop that will match balance my flywheel. toms performance engines in vancouver, wa. $90 is what thay quoted me. Its hard to believe that in a city like Portland there's only one shop that does this service.

Went over to my buddys shop yesterday welded up every other hole on my yota flywheel. Ground them down, drilled 8 holes off of the tdswaps pilot adapter. reamed a chamfer on the holes like stock.
Still got to oval out a couple of them where we welded. probably should of paid a pro. but I'm on a tight budget and can't afford any extras. Ill try and get the pics up.

Thx ill do that. good looking out. while i had my engine i figured i woud test fit the radator. With my stock Toyota radiatitor i have 1/4" until i hit the water pump. and i tryed to put the drain plug in my tdswaps oil pan.... had to retap it so the drain plug would thread in. if anybody was wondering what size the drain plug is its 12 x1.5 kinda a weird pitch.

I got my flywheel balanced and resurfaced at toms proformance in Vancouver. The Toyota flywheel was out of balance 6 grams, might have been my plug welds. got it on the engine. Went to bolt the tranny upand the bolt holes on the tdswaps bell housing adaptor were drilled 3/8" aprox. not the 27/32" that need. u will need to use to tap it to 12x1.25mm in order to use the bolts that i got with my kit. Wish this guy would put the ammount effort into his fab work, that he puts into excuses. st least the holes mached the bell housing.

i decided to use the 300sd radator setup. its the same size as my yota radator and the hoses will b easier to fit. I had to cut out the core support in four spots. on each side of the radator opening, i cut mine just behind the stock rad mounting bolt holes. then i cliped out two noches in to the top of the core support and bent them flat. Right underneath the noches. i cut out a hole so that the stock Mercedes. rad mounting clips.then i cut the bottom rad support put of the Mercedes, trimed it to fit between the Toyota frame rails. all i got to do now is weld it in.

Got my engine and tranny back in the runner. i still got to get longer bolts to use nuts on the front of the adaptor. but these will work for now.
got my new driveline in the runner. The stock driveline off my buddys 85 reg cab shortbed 4x4 worked perfect .
Ill post more after today's progress

on a side note i got my bolts and alt bracket from brian.

Sorry its taken me a while to post my progresses. been working to much. I've got most of the electral squared away just gotta cap off all of the unesery efi wires. i used my stock alt wires to power my glow plug realy, and vac shut off. i ended up useing the Mercedes adla vac slonoid. it works perfect .

his instructions said to place the alt on the 2nd pully groove. its not gonna work on mine due to the lower radator hose. so I'm gonna space the ps pump out about 1/2" forward so it can use the front pully groove.

i still have to finish the interor, mount coolant res, and exhust.

Mounted the coolant res. today ... i mounted it too low it wouldn't fill the radator, wish i would of mounted the radator as low as i could of. I only got to move the coolant res up 2-3" so its not that big of a deal i got the room to move up.

Just uploaded some w picks on my progress to my photobucket. I relocated the coolant res. up2" that solved my problem with filling the system. got sum picks of glw plug wiring, exhust clearance, and radator clearance. for the exhust I'm probably gotta do a crossover over the bell housing cuz its way to tight on the passengers side for me with ifs.
