Wouldn't it be easier just to get a Tacoma with a 3.4 already in it? If I did a swap I'd do something like a 1UZ or 1GR.

If I could buy a 3.4 equipped Tacoma for 2 grand don't ya think I would do that? Besides I am up to the challenge.

I'd still swap in a bigger engine.

well.. you'd need everything under the hood and the tranny i believe. complete engine wiring harness and ecu. you cant' run a 6 cylinder motor with an ecu that was made for 4 cylinders. I got my complete 3.4 swap for 1500 so... look around at wrecking yards i'm sure you'll find something.

So the tranny isn't compatible with the 2.7 tranny? I know I need the ECU for the 6, it just doesn't matter if ya have an auto tranny ecu or manual..I just pin the correct wires to fool it..got that under control.

As far as I know you will need the engine, harness computer all the sensors and well everything under the hood and the transmission. Cause they don't match. So for all that work I would go bigger or buy a different taco. (there are some good deals out there, yes for 2 grand)
