Waterproofing the 1UZ

What do you all do to waterproof the 1UZ as much as possible being it's a petrol engine?

I have no intention of submersing mine when it's fitted, but I want to be able to cross streams, shallow river crossings, wet trails, etc without having to worry about it cutting out.

I will be using the original airbox and a snorkel.

Any advice will be appreciated

dielectric grease all electrical connections. The biggest issue with the 1uz for water submersion is the alternator is very low. Just expect that it won't last as long as it should if your drowning it in dirty water.
