Not likely to bolt up to your tranny, but I don't know what tranny you have. The 2j is the better bet in a t100, in my opinion (more power). I'd be tempted to do a 1 or 2UZ if you're not dead set on the turbo.

t100
definietly leaning more towards inline 6, either n/a or t. ide rather have the turboed just for simply fact of boost + mud = alot of fun. and im a boost whore.. dont judge. i want to keep up with traffic while towing as well. and remain a 6cyl.

One of the best 2jz swap threads I have seen.
http://www.customtacos.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=155981
Its for a Tacoma, but lots of good info.

complete JDM 2JZ-GTE motor and trans swap
I have a 93 pickup and am wanting to swap an aristo motor and trans with my 22re with 154 trans. Can i just take out my old motor and bolt it to my trans or would i be better off swapping both? this is the first time i am replacing the motor so i am fairly new to this. any help is greatly appreciated!

A LOT MORE goes into it than bolting up to trans. Start reading all of this thread and the "2jz swap kit" thread (no, the kit isn't available anymore, but good info) then come back with questions you have left. You're in the right place but the questions have already been answered. Read, take notes, read some more.

Ok, ok let me get this all in one place, Im a red seal Journeyman welder so I have some fabrication skill but this is alot to wrap my head around. Im just thinking out loud, because this is super complicated when you have dyslexia haha.
so Im swapping out my 82 22R and L50 but keeping the RF1A with the help of https://www.marlincrawler.com/transf...-case-adapters
and swapping in a 2JZ with the help of
NEEDS
- Custom motor mounts
- 1JZ/R154 flywheel and HD clutch
- 1JZ/R154 bellhousing
-R150 transmission (Input shaft is long enough on 96+) no franken tranny? ( or R150 with R154 input shaft) can someone confirm this?
-The slave cylinder from the R150
WANTS (this is where it gets really fuzzy)
-Can anyone recommend a good standalone ecu? I would like to just bypass all the stock electrical in the truck and install aftermarket gauges, MSD ignition and megasquirt MS3? but that starts to get pricey fast. any cheaper but as good options haha.
-Aluminum radiator with twin elec fans.
-Intercooler
-US made turbos, 50mms? or single?
-550 injectors?
-forged pistons
-HKS metal head gasket
-ARP main and head studs.
-HKS BOV
I have never built an engine or done a swap myself always had shops do them for me time is money right but no one will 2J my beast for under 10 grand so here I am so the mechanical side of it is whats daunting... building new frame rails, engine mounts, tranny mounts, cross member, exo, I can do hahaha but internal work is eeehhh.... I want about 400/400 and a rock solid engine, what am I missing? can anyone with experience chime in?

as far as a custom bell housing.. people here have done it. There is a company on ebay selling custom ones for the r150f to jz motors. Or you can do what I do and swap the input shaft and just use the r154 bell housing. Got the shaft for $100, new pilot bearing $10, and don't remember what the bell housing cost. $250 from drift motion?
Other than plug and play we took 1/2" off the end of the input shaft and it worked great.

as a fellow jz swapper you will love it. 2jzgte +86 4runner. bpu's 16lbs boost, stock ecu and everything else and cranking out 400ish and maxing out stock injectors. if you get an aristo motor the stock ecu can handle a few mods without problems. my stock power was only listed at 280ish i think. once i did a full 3in exhaust, boost controller(manual) and open intake and a boost cut defender it really woke it up. 400 hp is pretty common on a stock aristo ecu with all the basic power upgrades done.
