Thanks Twisty, don't you just love those factory gauges... boiling at 3/4. I've had mine up to 216 deg F (about 102 C) and the factory gauge is showing smack in the middle. I don't know WTF the Toyota engineers were thinking on that. BTW 110 deg C = 230 deg F

yeah I want it to mount up to the original mounts so parts are easier to come by and yours looks so simple to do. when they built the mounts did they draw up any kind of rough plan to go by? sizes or the like, just looking for something for a starting point.

unfortunant about your mates truck, hope there where no injuries!! all that hard work down the tubes.

Nah, they didn't draw anything up.....they just made a plate to bolt to the Lexus block, then a plate to bolt to the original V6 engine mounts. Then got the engine to sit in the engine bay how they wanted, and filled the gaps in between with plate and bracing.

And nah, no injurys in the roll......he was 1200kms from home but, so we did some dodgy panel beating, made a windscreen and windows from perspex, and he drove it all the way home.

Did all the lift myself....runs a set of new dobinson standard height 80 series landcruiser rear coils (bout 4" rear lift), 30mm BJ Spacers and wound torsion bars (bout 3.5" front lift) and 2" Bodylift.

How much? depends where you are? Aussie, could do the whole lot for under $1500 with a set of Rancho 9000x shocks if you install it all yourself.

I'm about to pull the truck off the road soon as its taking a new direction......I have pretty much sold all the parts that wont be needed (gearbox, bellhousing kit, susp, 17's and 35's, Interior, Barwork)....I've got one more wheeling trip in it this weekend, then it'll start to be stripped...Some pics of the new build will be shown on the 4th of Aug.

So for know I've finally been getting out in it and using it as much as possible offroad. I've been stoked with how capable it actually is. Heres a heap of pics and some vids of the last months wheeling trips! I've been running the FJ40's 15x10s and 35x12.5 TrXus MTs on it.
