Well, I just finished it up a few days ago, so maybe I can actually get some video now!
Oh, and the transmission situation seems to be working great so far.

Yes. Do share! When you get everything 100% wrapped up, I think your truck should be featured in 4wd Toyota Owner Magazine. It looks that cool. https://www.facebook.com/pages/4WD-T...15434875313848

Right now I'm dealing with this whole flood situation... Luckily I live on top of a mountain, but the road to Boulder is almost completely gone. I'm sure glad I've got this truck going right now, 4wd and high clearance is required to get to work, haha. I'll try and snap a few pictures on my way home tonight.

For anyone out there interested in doing this swap, I'm selling all the stuff to run your stock W56 transmission behind a 7m. I'm going to an R-series setup, so I don't need it anymore. I had 5000 miles on this setup before my transmission started making noises and I decided to upgrade rather than just replace it. This is a good way to go to cut some of the cost out of the initial swap, all the adapters/turbo clutch/parts can get expensive with the R-series setup very quickly, ask me how I know.
I'll take $150 for all of it if anyone is interested. I've got close to 300 total in all of this, so its a decent deal. PM me if you're interested.
-Clutch- Exedy, excellent shape, was new when I first did the swap
-Flywheel- Resurfaced at time of the swap
-Release bearing/hub- Nachi bearing, also new
-Release fork- complete with new clips
-W58 Bell housing
-Engine/transmission brackets for this setup
-Clutch slave cylinder- not pictured but it works and was recently rebuilt

Update: I'm at 10k miles on this swap and the motor and transmission are doing awesome. I daily drive this truck about 19 miles one way and about 2000' climb in elevation in the last 8 miles on the way home, so it gets driven fairly hard every day.

I don't have any more pictures. Its been staying cool so far though. It does fine in stopped traffic even when its really hot out. The highest temps I see are going up long hills (like every day on the way home). Even then, it only gets to around 200 at the top, sometimes up to 220 if its a really hot day. I have a fan controller that doesn't kick on until 195 though (turns off at 175), so it always hovers around 180-195, which is about right for this motor.
PM me if you want to grab a beer and talk 7m trucks/compare swaps some day. I'm always up for that.
Also, as a general update, I'm at 17k on the swap, still going strong and smooth. I still haven't ever gotten around to throwing an intercooler on. Too many other more fun projects to work on.

did you buy the stage 1 3-link kit or did you picece some of it together yourself? i really like how it all turned out! sorry i haven't called you to grab a beer yet, i keep thinking things will slow down and i'll have some free time on the weekends but it hasn't happened yet. I will definitely hit you up soon though

I got the tubeless kit from him, then also bought the shocks/bump stops later on. He wasn't selling the shock mounts when I bought my kit, that would have been nice to have. I saved a little on material and shipping by sourcing the tubing locally and welding in the threaded inserts myself.
I will also say that I think his shock valving is not stiff enough. I know everyone has their personal preferences, but the valving is REALLY soft. I guess my truck is also probably a lot heavier than a 22r truggy, so whatever. My next modification for the suspension will be disassembling the shocks and changing the valving.

Doing great, still driving it pretty much every day. Like I said before, there's a lot of stuff I'd like to do, but there's just too many other things going on. Luckily, its just a nice, reliable truck that I can keep putting miles on without worrying. Maybe next spring I'll dive into this project again and do some updates. The 20k mile mark is approaching soon.

Good to hear! You seriously did some awesome work on this thing.
How do you like the 3 link for daily driving? In the way future, I would love to have that setup

The 3-link is pretty nice on the road. Its much more predictable than any leaf spring will ever be in the corners, especially if there are bumps/pot holes. I think an anti-sway bar and some stiffer damping would make it just about perfect. I'm sure linking the rear and valving it properly would help too, but I really don't mind how these chevy springs ride with stiffer 5100 bilsteins.

Awesome, good to hear and thanks for the reply!
