When you say 1 ton rear end, are you talking about the Toyota camper rear end with duals? I have had a 86 pickup long box 1 ton and it just had the 8 inch v6 rear end even though it had a G54 trans and 22r carb engine. Also be mindful that the camper rear ends can be either the true 1 ton with duals, or a standard rear with some sort of adapters to make it have duals, but isn't a floater rear end.
I'm not all that experienced with the 350 chevy engines, but I know wiring will be something you'll have to deal with, and of course you'd need the bell housing if using the Toyota trans, but since it is a 2wd it would be simple enough to put in the engine with a 2wd trans from the source car/truck you got the engine from and use an adapter u joint or maybe pay for a custom drive shaft to be made (should be ~$200-250).
