so it is not the tps. i swapped it out for a new one and it acts the same. i redid the turbo piping and it still does it. wired it does it some tomes but not every time. sometimes it will rev right through it.
so i am gonna work on it and try to figure it out today.

so this 7mgte motor is F'ing pissing me off. NO boost leaks. i found the fuel vsv was clogged so i took it apart and cleaned it. swapped the cps, triple checked the tps.
now i need to check the wires from the tps and cps and afm to the ecu.
i need to try a afm swap.

Did you get this fixed?
Probably not the problem and not sure what your elevation is but did you install the HAC (High Altitude Compensation) sensor? I've read that this can cause some similarly described issues.
If the motor is out of an 87' the sensor is behind the glovebox in the supra.
Just a thought.

checked the readings at the ecu from the tps and they were different from the readings at the tps pins. rewired the tps to the afm and ecu. now it runs without the problem. so now onto the hood and sliders and bumper

the heat exchanger up front is a tranny cooler from a f150. the dimensions are 7.5" tall, 10.75" wide, 2" deep.
seems to keep the IC cool. the coolant does not get hot to the touch and the intake manifold is not very hot to the touch.

Have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it while its running? Do you have access to an AFR meter setup? When its warmed up, my truck runs pretty consistently at 14.7 until it starts boosting and over half throttle, then it drops to around 12.5ish.
I know you said you hotwired your fuel pump, but it would be good to know what the fpr is setting the rail pressure at. If its not correct, just go with an aftermarket afpr instead of trying to trouble shoot the stock setup.
Hopefully you get it going soon, I've got around 150 miles on mine so far, and man, its a riot.

yea i got one on order.
i got a tacoma intank pump and an inline walbro. with both of them running i still get this stumble. but only there. at high rpms it is all good.
egesledder when you did your swap did you wire in the factory boost sensor? also what rpm does your motor start to make boost?

I didn't swap in the boost sensor.
Also, I bought the Toyota Factory Wiring Diagram for the '87 Toyota Supra which has way more info than what came in the TSRM. It goes through every system and has pin number callouts/etc for every plug. I could probably scan a few pertinent pages in and post them up if you're interested.

vid of your stumble is gone. I'd like to see/hear it. Mine has has a slight miss from day 1 every time I've built it. Only at idle. Its really hard to explain. I've searched and swapped sensors and re-adjusted everything and its still there. I've given up and just drive it as is.
fyi, mine idles 15-15.3afr at 600~rpm
with my set up I'm getting 9psi at 3500rpm through the ct26. Gets up to 12-13 by 6000.

this thing is still acting up. it acts like it is choking and cant breathe. once and awhile while it is stumbling it will backfire pop through the intake. so i dont know wtf.
like when you inhale air into your lungs hold it and open your mouth and let it out in little bursts.
here is another video
www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDLr4Hk-zXUi will upload another when my internet is not messing up.

yes all injectors test ok and i took them all off and zip tied them to the rail and had someone crank it and they all fire perfect and have a nice spray.
the afm tests to spec and i have a spare i swapped out.
it is almost like when the timing starts to advance the fuel is not spraying or spark is not lining up. i have small cracks on the edges of 2 of my coil packs so i have 2 new ones that should be in today to see if that is part of the problem.
