I am swapping out my 22re to a 7MGE and need help choosing a radiator that will fit. Alot of the posts I see with this swap have hacked the core support up to make a radiator fit. I am trying to avoid that since this body is in perfect shape. I read in one post someone cut the AC portion off the crankshaft pulley to make more room since they were not using the AC anyway, but I can't find it again. Are these engines externally balanced? I see that there are aluminum aftermarket pulleys, so I am thinking that its not???? Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!
The engine is externally balanced. Whatever you do, don't machine off the a/c pully of the balancer, and do not buy an aftermarket aluminum balancer. From what I remember there is one company that make a 2 pulley balancer that is balanced but it will cost you a pile of cash.
I'd say just cut the rad support and make a frame to hold your rad wherever you need it. That's what I had to do. I also have an electric pull fan in between the rad and engine and I have a solid 1/4" gap between my fan and balancer.

I used the radiator out of a v6 truck for mine. It fit right into the stock location without any modification. I was not able to use a manual fan though, so I used the electric off the supra and mounted it in front of the radiator.

I do plan on using a pusher fan. How did you run your radiator hoses with that setup? The inlet to thermostat positions seem like it wouldn't work. Do you have pics? I have done a frame off resto on this and the body is pristine so I would hate to cut up the core support.

I am using the supra hoses with a little modifications (trimming) to fit. I will post pics tomorrow when I can.
No need to cut anything up as long as its not a turbo.
So Ive been looking into this and noticed something odd on my end.. Here is the tag number on my radiator that I got from the radiator shop.
The part number is 231 0945 which, I noticed when doing research, correlates to a standard 4cy radiator. But the inlet and outlets are on the opposite sides of factory placement which allows me to use the supra hoses. So now I honestly dont know what I have. The guy at the radiator shop told me it was a "V6" radiator. But now Im thinking that when he "ordered" the "V6" radiator he actually swapped tanks from a different application and made one. So it looks like I have unknowingly been driving around for years with a modified 4cyl radiator.
I ordered the CX racing one I mentioned above. It fits perfect but the inlet will interfere with alternator, but I am going to put a 90 degree elbow there and it should be perfect.
