1uzfe to R150 clutch question

Hey guys, I'm wanting to swap in the Lexus v8 and have thoroghly researched the swap and want to keep my 5 speed tranny. I see that when the 3.0 flywheel is machined 5/16" thinner you guys are having to take 5/16" out of the bellhousing. Do you still have to do that when using a custom bellhousing or just when using an adaptor plate. Also, I've found conflicting info as to whether or not I need a body lift. IFS with no lift so I want the Ls400 engine, anyone out there running an ifs 1uz truck with no body lift? Thanks

I think you can run it without a body lift but the engine will be very close to the radiator. 85toyman tried but I think he still had to put a bash lift on.

Old post I know.. I've been wondering the same thing. Any info yet ? I'm wanting to swap my 3.0 for the 1uz and keep my r150f. I too have read a few posts where the 3.0 clutch/ flywheel was retained. This is what I want. For now at least. I can get a 1uz to r150 bell housing at a good price. But I'm not sure if the BH needs machined .

I used the Ks racing bellhousing and it didnt have to be machined, just some shaved off the flywheel and I used a marlin hd clutch. I would guess that you wouldnt have to change other custom bellhousings either. The ks BH does have a freakishly tall slave mounting point, but that is easy to fix. I did end up using a 2" BL . It made things fit much better.

My swap's been done for about 2 months but I didnt do a write up. Just about everything that I did has been well covered by those before me, so I didnt see much point. If you have any questions about the swap I can try to answer them though, and I did take quite a few pictures.
