Exclamation questions about the 5vz-fe(3.4l)

i im new here, i just got a 1993 p/u is has a 3.0 in it with a really bad rod knock, so i bought a 3.4l this morning and my problem and question is the company i bought it from doesnt keep track of the doner and it doesnt come with the ECU or wiring harness. so does the ECU or wiring harness differ between 1993-2004 in the 5 differnt trucks toyota put this engine in?

You have a loooooooot of reading to do. It varies very much between the tacoma, 4runner, and t100. There may be a vin number on the front of the motor passenger side. Throttle boddies could vary, intakes vary, o2 sensors vary.

You can make that engine work, but you're likely to spend way more money doing it and it'll likely be much more of a pain in the .... than you would have ever thought possible.

You'll need to find a ECU (any 5VZ ECU will work, but depending on your application, some will work better than others), then find a matching harness (or find one "close enough" and re-pin it/modify it to match your ECU), then you'll need to make sure all the electronics on the motor are compatible with that ECU.

That's just to get it to run, if you have to SMOG it or have it inspected for emissions you're in for a whole other adventure.

Good luck and keep reading through previous swap threads.
