Question Question on 3.4 swap?

Sorry for the long post but need some info on 3.4 swap. Ok, every time there is a problem with a 3.0 most say to swap it out with a 3.4...so I have a 94 runner with a bad 3.0 and could do the swap but my hesitation is that from what I have read you have to "modify" cut the hood or install a body lift in order to get the hood closed...cause the 3.4 sits to high in the engine bay. Am I the only one that thinks this is a clear sign you should not be swapping this motor in?

Has anyone completed this swap in California and cleared a safty inspection and smog with this set up?

What about resale value?

Thanks for the info in advance!!

You guys seriously need to search a little better. There is an entire forum dedicated to the 3.4 swap HERE

Lots of info there. Read through first, then ask away.

Small hole and some wiring is worth the effort to do this swap.

Yes, it's worth it.

Don't care about resale. Keeping it for as long as I can.
