Cowl Scoop on 95 4Runner
1995 4Runner
1998 3.4L
Swap September, 2011
(Details to be posted soon)
Cowl Hood Scoop
28''L x 19''W x 1.75'' H
Fiberglass, Pop Riveted on
Too lazy to prep it, so the fine texture is rubberized undercoating
And as you can tell it started blue and that rears its ugly head here and there

I went with the "mini cowl" because it seemed regular cowl scoops were way to big. I live in Colorado and didn't want to force feed snow into the engine compartment. I like it as its not so massive it takes up the whole front end and it helps cool things down a bit and most impotantly I can close my hood.
I was fraid the fiberglass may be to "rigid" but so far it has had 0 problems.
Thanks for the comments

wow .. 45 bucks , thats a good buy , I cant even compete with that !!
Ours has been widened and legthened to fit the hood awesome , specially for the 3.4 swap
ours is actually built for the 89-95 hood so it "fits" the body lines .. but NO way we can even compete with those prices .. good find !!

Here's mine. It is a replica of the 2005-up taco/4Runner sport scoop I got off eBay. I forget exactly, but I think it was around $100 shipped. It is abs plastic and very thick.
There is also a few closeups and an underside shot in my swap thread around post 87

$100 shipped? Not bad, I like that it has the mesh already installed.

Don't feel bad, just put your "freshly" rebuilt 3.0 for sale on a local craigslist, I sold mine with 5000 miles on it in just a couple days, got a few offers but didn't budge from 1750. The 3.0 never failed me just had a slight tick and I'm so picky i just went through it before it got worse, but the power just doesn't compare to the 3.4, especially on the highway, It really depends on what you use it for but its a major difference, again I also have the supercharger and URD goodies. Or just put the scoop on for looks
