issue's with Alternator fitting after swap

Hi everyone. i finished another engine swap. 89 4runner. 3.0 to 3.4, well with my 3'' body lift ( at least this is my guess? ) now my steering shaft rubs on my alternator. My other swap (which is a stock 88 4runner) doesnt rub, but is pretty close. It's gotta be the body lift messing with my Steering shaft. My question is Does anyone know if its possible for me to get a smaller alternator? or has anyone had these issue's? I hacked mine so i could steer >< (temporary fix)
Thanks guys and gals
