Flywheel ???

Right now im about to dive head deep into my swap and all my parts are starting to pile up.

I have a 04 taco 3.4 auto that im putting into my 93 pu with the 3.0 and r150 behind it.

i plan to stick with the manual and need to know if a 3.4clutch disk and cover will fit onto the 93 flywheel or if this will cause me problems.

I have the parts for the 3.4 but i didn't realize that the flywheels differed between auto and manual.

I know that the clutch disc on the 3.4 is meant for more strength but i dunno about the flywheel.

Yes it will work. I have a 93 4Runner 5spd. and I got the 2001 Tacoma clutch disk and cover on mine. I bought new while I was in there so I don't have to go back in there for awhile.

One of the better sites for general questions on the swap.

I used the 3.4 flywheel, clutch, and pilot bearing and the 3.0 throwout bearing. There are one or two guys on here who have used the 3.0 flywheel and clutch successfully.

And for reference, manual trannies have a flywheel, autos have a flex plate.

Yep it will al fit just fine. You will prob have to go to toyota and get the flywheel bolts the ones from the 3.0 will be too long and the bolts from the 3.4 auto flexplate are to small. I ended up going to toyota and getting them. Here is the part number i used. 90105-10138 they cost me 2.31 each from the local dealer. 1sttoyotaparts.com gots em for 1.49 + shipping. n u will need 8.

So after 3 people told me that the 3.0 flywheel would work with the 3.4 clutch disk and cover, It didnt. The studs on the 3.0 fly didnt match. I might have been able to make it work but i didnt want to weakin the drivetrain. I ended up getting a used flywheel for the 3.4 and resurfacing the face. just wanted to let anyone trying to do the same thing i do know that it doesnt fit.
