Final preperations

As of now my dream is on its way to becoming true but i still have some minor concerns with this swap.
I own a 1993 p/u with a 3.0 in it now with a 5 speed pullin up the rear. i found the donor truck with a 3.4 with only 22,000 miles(thats typed correct) the truck is a 1996 tacoma crew cab with a auto tras behind it.

My questions are
1)will 3.4 headers clear the frame of the 93 truck? (not to be confused with the stock manifold)

2)is it really that simple?

thanks guys

Sweet. coming from the 3.0 im not a fan of having that cross over anymore. If anyone has any idea where i can pick up a manual harness and ecu would be very useful. if some has this and needs a auto harness and ecu maybe a trade?

2) Define simple.

The fitting of the engine and accessories is simple; the wiring is not.

It's intimidating at first, but if you're patient and have time to really dig into the EWD's- or have experience reading EWD's- it's doable.

I'm in the middle of trying to figure out the wiring, and I'm gonna be honest, it's pretty frustrating! I believe you'll need more than just the engine harness. On the 3.0, all the plugs at the ECU went to the engine, where as with the 3.4, only two plugs go to the engine. Two plugs that go to the ECU come off the dash harness, and one was for the security system or something. I say this cause you might need the dash harness as well.

That's not even getting into the big dash harness-to-engine harness plug...

Oh yeah, my truck is a 92 auto, and my donor is a 99 manual. I've already converted the truck to manual.

Also, I read in quite a few places that the swap can be done with only splicing 6 wires or so- the rest of the wires can be swapped by switching the pins in the plugs around.

So far, by the way two on the ecu plugs are tangled into the dash harness, I don't see this being possible, but we'll see

I mean as simple as a engine swap can be for a efi engine. sad thing is i know that all the wiring going to be the hardest, longest, and most tedious part but i can and will do it for that extra power!!
