I'm just starting my swap and with the Toyota techinfo information, it's pretty straight forward... In a R150 situation, only about 6 wires need splicing.
Would you be tageting the auto swaps? And what price range are you shootin for?

Hmmm seems to be good interest so far.
IF I decide to do this I would be able to make one for either auto or manual. I will be doing these as more of a side gig. I do work full time. For that reason I will only be doing these one at a time. I would like to say that I will be able to complete a harness within a month. A wiring conversion really doesnt seem to hard. I learned alot from my wiring harness and I didnt even do mine. Learn some things the hard way. The big lesson was that you can use a limited 4runner ecu because of the anti them module. You need that. I owe alot of my knowledge to thefallman. I know he has entertained the idea of offering to do conversion harnesses as well. If he decides to do them I will not be competing with him in anyway. I will NOT be making a business out of this. I will encourage other to attempt to complete their own conversion harness, but if someone feels that it is something that they just do not want to do then, sure why not.

I noticed that lots of folks are looking for auto to manual harness/ wiring help. If you can corner that part of the market I think you will really have something made. Best of luck to you in your endevour.

Im pretty sure that using an auto wiring harnes and ecu for a manual truck is possible. However I am not sure if there will be any CEL lights from it.

man....i wished i would have known that more ppl than tmz were doing this conversion harness, if it was avalable at the time i would have jumped at the opportunity to buy one. luckly I pulled the whole dash harness and every little bit of hardware i could get my hands on in the time frame avalable. I finally gave up trying to figure out the conversion and used the whole 3.4 auto harness gauge cluster and all. Me being a lucky sob, stole it all for around $400 from a 96 4runner that had been rolled over.

Reminder this is a feeler...Just seeing if folks are intrested in this. BAMF isn't yet building them. As for the CEL that is important to most people unless they are lucky enough to live somewhere like Colorado that doesn't do smogs.

I hate hate hate hate wiring. If I could source out the wiring for this swap I definitely would (would be a auto swap w/ AC and cruise control).

Looking back on my swap, the wiring is actually easy. Well it would be if the junk yard hadnt have cut my 3.4 harness to shreds. Over 800 solder joints later and its done woohoo!!

A little update to this thread for future reference. If it isnt obvious by now, I have decided not to do the conversion harness. Mainly because everyone seems to want cruise and A/C in which I dont have the resources available to me to verify that it will work if I do the harness. Basically the most I can offer with the harness is that the engine will run and have basic function. And if that is all you want, it is pretty easy to do on your own with a little research. If that is still something you dont want to attempt, send me a PM and we can work something out. Best of luck

Can you explain why the AC create such problems? I am getting ready to get there and I want the ac to work. I know to use the 3.4 compressor and switch the plate, keep the AC amplifier, but unsure on the wiring as of now.
Am i going to have problems getting it to work. Most of the swaps I have seen that are done either they didnt have ac, or its not working for whatever reason. I want mine to work for sure. It get 105+ here in the summer.

Honestly, I would probably go with a 3.4 over the 1uz like I'm looking for now if there was a harness, I can do the harness, i'm just a full time single dad, and work Alot, so I have no time, the engine swap will happen over a weekend, but the wiring would just get put off, and put off for me, I procrastinate bad on stuff like that, the hard labor, moving, wrenching stuff I love, but as soon as I sat down at my table with a loom, my kids would be all over me and it would never get done. I used to install stereo's back in my youth - pro installer from 16-18 - so doing it is not a problem, but when I'm in the garage, or working on vehicles I'm off limits to the kids unless they want to help, but indoors, I'm all there's.
I would seriously consider it if the cost was kept down...
