OK, I'm really stumped on something that just does not make sense to me. OK, I have 2 harnesses, one that came with the 5vz-FE Auto and another 5vz-fe auto harness. Both have 5 plugs where there should be 6 total.

They both have E9, E-10, E11 and the II3 and I think it is the IH1 plug for the dash...............but NO E12 plugs.

In all of my reading did I miss somewhere that this plug is added. The only thing I can think of is this was NOT a 4x4 like both places said but a 4x2.

They don't look like 2000 and up plugs so that's not it. Any thoughts and if it is 4x2 then screw it, I'm getting the factory 97 MT harness......

The thing is that he is using the manual ECM Part #89661-3D310 so he needs the E-8 plug which is 90980-11392

Which I explained in a PM

He has also stated he has the manual harness as well.

Well, almost. Yes, on the MT ECM.

Both harnesses are from AT. The yard said the engine would not come with the harness, so I ordered one........and the engine did come with a harness after all...........so........I will have a harness for sale. Heck, if I had the 97 MT harness, it would almost be plug and play!

In all my reading, I can't believe I missed that I needed a plug from the donor. I thought I just needed the plugs for the 3.0 dash to 97 ECU harness.

Thanks Drew I will check that response out for sure. When I looked at harness, I was thinking, "how can this harness NOT have an E12 plug........seems like the most important plug to have." Still can't believe I missed that I needed that plug. Wish I had the donor.....oh well.

You can source that plug from the dealer, or I'll bet that plug also is used in other toyota vehicles. I just sourced from the dealer when I did mine. It was easier. I posted the part numbers for all the plugs needed for that ECM but I can't remember where, or what thread. Maybe mine

If you can find it, just don't get the ones you already have as noted by the TINY number on your plugs. Order the one you're missing. You'll be golden, as I am using the same ECM and used that same ECM in another swap. Easiest ECM to use IMO from my reading anyway.

Found it.

I can't repost the pic using my ipad, but go to the 3.4 swap 101 thread I wrote, and go down to "repinning the auto harness" I have a pic of the plugs I ordered from my shopping cart with part numbers . Just order the one your missing.

All toyota plugs start with 90980. Your current plugs will NOT have the 90980 on them. Just the last five of the actual plug in your hand. So if your plug has a 12345 on it, the part number is 90980-12345.

Again, you have 3 of the 4 in that pic, just order the one you don't have.

After you have established which one you need exactly, You may call a good dealer and ask them to run the part number. The toyota epc(electronic parts catalog) WILL show every vehicle that uses that part number. You may find that a 98 Camry or a 97 land cruiser uses that same part, or in this case plug. Then you have the option to hit a pick and pull and get it faster and probably cheaper, or do what my buddy does and get it free with the ol' down the front pocket discount.....although I don't recommend.
