Bypass ADD electrics and working 4wd light
I have about 1k miles on my 3.4 swap into a t100. The only thing that I didn't tackle during the initial swap was bypassing the ADD electrical system. I had already swapped to manual hubs and slid the add sleeve into the locked position permanently.
So I spent a afternoon with the wiring books.
At the gauge cluster the 4wd light is always hot. Like most Toyota wiring, the ground is switched.
So in my case I clipped the 4wd wire on the male connector that plugged into the cluster. Then connected it to the transfer case switch wire where it entered the cab, in my case this was a Pink/Green wire. This bypasses the ADD switch, ADD relays and ABS ECU. You leave the ground side of the switch (White/Black) either connected to the other ground wires in your harness or just ground it at the firewall.
Now just your tcase switch controls your 4wd light.

I didn't realize it, but I purchased a Toyota wiring manual a couple of years ago. I am having another go at it tomorrow. I already have locking hubs and was thinking about just locking the axel in place, but did not know if it would harm the axel. I have also just installed a Ausse locker in the front axel. Unfortunately the new case seal is leaking. Maybe it will seal up after I use it, or I will just have to live with it not taking it apart again.we will see how the wiring goes. I still have to put in the tranny and finish the new header install. I am also considering a new high output 3.0 from www.rapterengines.com 196 hp.
