Automatic trans problems. T4r to t100 ecu

I'm new to this forum and am really lookin for some help. First off, the truck is a 92 4x4 auto originally equipped with a 3.0. It still has the original transmission. The engine is from a 97 4x4 auto 3.4 4Runner and I drove it for a while on that Ecu as well. Once I got all the little issues wrapped up, the truck did everything it was supposed to except shift under WOT and had some strange shift patterns when it was cold.

Now I have a 95 T100 4x4 auto Ecu to help fix the shifting problems as the people at ORS have told me it would. Now it shifts fine thru all the gears but the toque converter locks and unlocks once it shifts into 4th gear. Or at least I think this is what is happening. Also I have a P1700 and the O/D off light is flashing. I haven't read the transmission codes currently. If someone could link me to those that would be nice. That light didn't flash when the 97 4Runner Ecu was being used.

The truck also has a 2nd gen trd s/c on it and needs knock sensors. It also has some other go fast goodies but they aren't important .

I hope someone has some input and can help me figure this thing out.

Ps. It has an ORS conversion harness to use the 97 4Runner Ecu and engine harness along with the 92 transmission and interior wiring.

Anyone have any ideas?
ORS believes I can't have a p1700 code with my 1995 T100 ecu and that I need to run a 1997 T100 ecu with P/N's:
89661-0W030
89661-0W031
It is possible that I botched the trans wiring, but the schematic is simple and I cannot imagine having any trouble there. I will check it out though. Is it common for that speed sensor to fail? Would anyone have either of those ECU P/Ns laying around?

Sorry I can't help I used the newer 340f and matching ECU. I'm sure the answer is scattered somewhere in one of several forums.

That was one option I was considering, using the newer A340F or doing a 5 speed swap. After coming up with that, I looked into pricing and realized things were adding up and necessary to do either swap. Like transfer case issues and more wiring modifications, on top of whatever I'd need to change inside to make it look complete, which is important to me. Plus I live in Detroit so it is very hard to find anything useful locally.

I've sold the S/C off the truck but still need to swap the stock manifold back on, so I will just drive with the shifting issues until I need to sell it or the A340H gives out on me.

Unless someone can confirm using a certain ECU to control the old auto trans flawlessy-er than what I'm experiencing!!

Also is there any test to check the speed sensor associated with a p1700 code? Besides using and o-scope...I have that code with both ECUs, which ORS told me it wasn't possible to see such a code with a 1995 T100 ECU.

I've made my A340H work just fine with a '98 Runner ECU.
This is what I did:

Starting at post #175.
Got to ditch the DC square wave sensor and wire in the AC sine wave type as pictured.
All I did was modify the dust ring with four notches and hang it off of the back of the trans.

Not hard.

Sixpack, do you know what P/N you used for that sensor? The one from my donor vehicle has a connector arranged at 90 degrees to the pickup. I like the fact that yours is straight inline with the pickup head. If it really doesn't matter one way or the other, I am trying to find a sensor and pigtail at a local junkyard and going from there. This is due to the fact that sensor was used in many RWD/4WD Toyota/Lexus vehicles! Also, how did you wire that in? I know I was directed to connect one of the sensor lead for my 3.4 harness gets used and the other does not. I assume I could connect the original 3.4 harness wires back to that new sensor but that might render my speedo unoperational. Any insight will be very appreciated. It's been a long road with this Runner.
