I hate to ask you to measure something again, but I will.

Would you measure from the TB to the furthest right edge of your air filter, and measure from the same spot on the TB to the nearest part of the passenter side fender?

I ask, because I'm thinking about using a filter setup like that and not relocate the battery. On T100's the washer is right about where your filter sits.

~21.25" from CC stay to far side of passengers side engine compartment
~13.75" from CC stay to far point of filter or ~8.25" to the filter end of the MAF sensor from the CC stay

I put the air filter where it would fit for the most part, a couple inches more towards the firewall and it would be messing with the VSV's for the EVAP system.

i gotta do the truck next,
i really want the 3.4 (like yours) and i just love opening the hood every time, and being able to actually see any leaks, and where they originate...

a clean motor, is a easy motor to tune, and keep purring.

my daily 86 22r motor is just a workhorse, i would like it to be polished, but its just a d.d. and i may have to sell it to pay for the 3.4 on my 88

No, in southern Utah. What issues? ever since I finished it, up until about march or april when I bought a cummins I had been driving it ...come to think about it, the check engine light is on, and I tried to have it tested at vatozone, it came up looking like the tester wasn't connected (idk if it was the tester, or faulty wiring, I would tend to think the tester was faulty but i never claimed to be perfect. I ran normal wires for 3 wires on the connector, and a shielded for the 4th like you are supposed to), but it runs great, no misses. When you are cruising, you get about 16-20 mpg if I remember right, depending how you drive it, and how fast of course. I finally got around to charging the AC a few months after I finished, and it kicked right on, so there ya go, it is possible to get away without making a ridiculously busy wiring circuit if you use an AC amplifier from a truck with the 5vz, read the wiring diagrams, and wire it in (seems like i had to run a lead to the circuit open relay, but don't quote me).

i was talking smog issues. Us here in California have that to deal with. have to pass through a referee that climbs through the thing with a fine tooth comb. A check engine light would be an automatic fail so that is worrying me as I prepare mine.

I see, I did not bother to put a cat or second O2 sensor on it (obviously, but I built an electronic circuit that supposedly sends a good signal to the ECU). No smog around here, but wouldn't be a problem to put that stuff on, I didn't cut wires and there is more than enough room to put a cat in. Speaking of your truck, as long as you swap everything exactly like how it is wired/connected on the taco, it should pass with no questions asked.

yup but the problem comes in when you have to keep the exhaust EXACTLY the same as you say. Which means no crossover changing the the other side. Which is the main reason I have been debating this swap. Deciding to say screw it and I am going to try it anyway.

Cadman here did it, so i will just steal all his ideas.
